As some of you may know I had my gall bladder removed on 1/25
well the following Tuesday night I had another Pancreatitus attack and they put me into the hospital on IV fluids, antiboitic and a "clear liquid" diet... I was in an entire week.. I just got out of the hospital, yesterday afternoon.
I have to go to a specialist next Wednesday to have what is called an ERCP, because they now think that i have what is called SOD (Sphincter of Oddi Dysfunction)
They have put me on a low fat diet and I have to drink lots of fluids, (which is ok since i usually drink 96-128 oz a day)
I can't wait to see the hospital bills..
anyways....I weighed myself this morning and i weighed 266. but I know I'll be gaining most of it back now that I am eating regular food.

I was just going to post a shout-out to you to see how things were going. I'm so sorry yu're still feeling bad. What an ordeal you've been through! Personally, I think you should just follow the doctor's instructions and not really think about weight loss, just focus on getting better! You can deal with losing, deal with hospital bills, deal with whatever else comes LATER! Take care sweetie! Hugs, Annie
I had that in reverse though...
my pancreas acted up before my gallbaldder was taken out - it was my gallbaldders fault but they didn't take it out in time.
I ended up in the hospital and couldn't even drink water...it was horrible...2 weeks...
Guess how much I lost?
Take a guess...
Nothing...not an ounce...story of my life.
I'm not really focusing on losing weight right now, but it's still at the back of my mind, like always. I'm really making sure I eat low fat and drink my water every day cause I sure as heck don't want to have another pancreatits attack. I don't have the energy to do anything but sleep, but i'm hoping to get more energy soon.
The 1st 3 days i was in they had me as NPO which means that you can't eat or drink anything, not even water, cause anytime you put anything into your mouth, your body makes hormones that makes the pancreas start producing more enzymes.. and since my levels were so high they didn't want to risk them getting any higher. then they put me on clear liquids until the last day which is when they let me have solids, but it was all low fat.
One of the hardest thing was being away from Todd & the kids so long. I even had to miss Samantha's 3rd birthday... Todd did a great job.. he cleaned the house, made little gift bags for all the kids and had cake, icecream and snacks for everyone, and he video taped it for me. between the adults and kids there were 30 people there.. Plus he brought the kids to the hospital the next day (along with left over cake & some presents for Sammy.) So she was very happy that she got 2 parties..
i'm still struggling with my 18 month old son Zac cause he doesn't want anything to do with me, he wants Daddy all the time, he won't even let me change his diaper (which is actually a pretty good deal) but he won't even let me hold him w/o screaming for Daddy.
It'll get better ..
