I knew I'd eaten badly this past week, but I didn't know I was this bad -- I regained almost four pounds!

Try not to let it get to you. You did so great that first week and you can succeed. Don't give up and don't let yourself get depressed over the scale. This past week was an emotional battle for you but the week is over so start fresh with the attitude that you are GOING to lose this week.

Oh Sweety, don't beat yourself up about it! You've had a heck of week. Just write the week off and start afresh!

Hang in there!

I know you must feel pretty low about regaining, but maybe you can look at it from a different perspective. What better comparison is there between being "on plan" and "off plan"? Your net loss is still more than 8 pounds, right? Your body must have assumed, "Oh good! That one week was just a fluke. She's going to start really feeding me again!" Time for you to tell your body which approach works better.

If I were you I'd journal everything--and I mean EVERYTHING--that you can remember eating last week. Look at the calorie difference, look at the points difference, look at the fat difference compared to the week that you were on plan. Reread what you wrote after your big loss and try to recapture the way you felt, the pride you had, and the can-do spirit of that moment. I know that's still in you, Mary! Dig it back out!

Another thought is that you might have really maintained from the previous week. Your initial loss was so substantial that it might have been a fair bit of water that your body struggled to reacquire last week. Think of it in the net instead of as a total mess-up of a week. Please, please don't give up. If you couldn't do this then you wouldn't have been able to do so well your first week! Hang in there, Annie

I third what Annie said. You're a strong woman and you made fabulous results the first week, so yeah that is proof that you can do it. And looking at the big picture, you lost 8 lbs in 2 weeks. That's not bad at all. Just get yourself back together and start fresh for the new week. Remember that the Ireland trip is getting closer and closer each day and you want to enjoy every minute of it.
