Hello! I'm another Newbee in the pot! I'm thinking that joining an online group will help me to lose weight. I don't have any problem letting myself down but I don't like to let anybody else down. Plus it gives me a great excuse to be On-Line!! I'm a stay home mom except during tax season. Then I'm a receptionist excuse me a (Client Service Coordinator) at H&R Block. I'm 234 pounds and would love to be 130(yea right) pounds, but my realistic goal is 155. I did the South Beach diet acouple of years ago. I did wonderful on it. The weight melted off of me, no exercise required. Why I'm not still South Beaching it? I have no good reason! Thats why I'm here. I need motivation! I will get back on the South Beach diet and make friends along the way. I'm looking forward to meeting everyone! If I can get motivated then maybe I can pass it on to my hubby, he is strong like Bull, but as big as one too!

Hey there Quack-er,

Welcome aboard! I'm 234 at the moment too and would hit a "healthy" BMI at 156. (I'm just shy of 5'7".) I am 44 and haven't seen that weight since college! Personally, I know that my body is lean and I look good and feel good at around 180.
Good luck keeping it off this time, whether it's South Beach or some other approach!

Hi Annie, Are you on a specific diet? Weight watchers, S.Beach? I think I'll stick with S.Beach. My mom was always heavy while I was a child. I got her hooked on S.Beach and she is 53years old now and weighs 116. I had my husband down to 242 on it. Hes back up to 300. I was 170lbs when I got married and I looked Good. I would definetly be happy to see myself like that again! My goal for this year, Fit into my wedding dress by Christmas! My doctor told me to only shop in produce and dairy. Avoid anything in the aisles and I would be eating right! I don't think I eat the worst though. I do love carbs. I don't eat sweets. I think my problem is I don't exercise. I have a gym membership, but I never go. Another goal, get to the gym! YUK! Kathy

Hi Kathy,
I've tried and failed many times at specific diet plans, even Weight Watchers. Unfortunately the only thing that has gotten me down below 200 in the past is dropping my calories to a ridiculously low level (Like 900 a day.) This time around I'm trying to keep calories below 1600 but above 1200 and really concentrate on exercising. When I don't exercise up goes the number on the scale. I'm really trying to make long term changes though, and overall I'm significantly better off than when I started last July.

180 was my wedding weight and I remember being ashamed to be so heavy despite the fact that I didn't look overweight. How I'd love to see that on the scale again!

Good luck! Great to have you with us!

Annie

Hello:

My name is snuggle_bunnie99 a.k.a.Tamara,and I am a newbie on here too! The reason I came here was because I wanted to come to a message board where I could talk with other people who are facing alot of the same issues and struggles that I am,being a plus sized woman. I would like to get down to about 150 pounds, but I know that it will take awhile to reach that goal, but that is ok! Every little bit helps and I am just taking one day at a time, watching my portions, eating sensibly, and I am looking at my new way of eating not as a diet, but as a healthy new lifestyle! I am also doing five days a week of cardio exercise for 30 minutes until I can do more in the future when I get used to it,and I am also lifting five pound weights everyday to help make my arms nice and toned,no more chicken wings here, lol. ;-) I know that you can do anything that you put your mind too,and there are alot of wonderful people on here who will support you and show you lots of love too! We will always be here for you if you need to talk,cry,vent,etc... Good Luck on your weight loss goals,YOU CAN DO IT!! snuggle_bunnie99 a.k.a. Tamara ;-)

Welcome aboard!! The more the merrier!!

I am starting off again this week myself and I hope we can motivate each other to continue. I'm not following any specific plan right now, but I am considering going to a nutritionist this Saturday. I am going to get back to exercise as well. I have a stationary bike and I intend to use it.

Good luck on your journey. Looking forward to your posts
