I was reading some of the post on here and sounds like a awesome bunch of people to talk with. I am new to this forum. I have been battling with weight issues since about 6 months after the burth of my child 10 years ago. I just hit 30 and I am ready to get myself in shape for life now. Slowing I have gone from 130lbs to my current of 240lbs. I would like to get back down to 130. I know its going to be a long hard bumpy road to get there, but I am up to the challenge. I have just joined 24hr fitness and hired a trainer to help jump me into gear. What is a realistic per pound lost? I am cutting caleroies plus working out now, 2 things that I have not done in forever.

Hi and welcome,
Good luck getting back to a normal weight. I can relate to your situation as I didn't cross over to being obease until I was in my 30s and shooting fertility drugs. I'm 44 now and it doesn't get any easier with time. Best wishes!

Welcome aboard!! And congratulations on starting a fitness plan already. Exercising is always the hardest part for me.
I am not sure what a realistic per pound loss is, it really differs from one person to another. At first you lose more rapidly, then it starts to slow down. It is "recommended" to lose 1-2 lbs a week, but I've seen many people on this board lose at a higher rate. And I myself lose at a very slow rate.
Wishing you all the luck in your weight loss journey. Looking forward to your posts
Welcome to the board and good luck!
