I found this website through Ask the Healthy Eating Expert here on iVillage and it has some really good ideas that I think all of us can use.

Hmm, some interesting ideas there. I have to admit though, the "return plate" concept doesn't sound very practical, especially as a mom. It makes me think of your thread about what we are teaching our kids. What a delicate balance it is, huh? Thanks for sharing this info. Funny how common sense isn't always common practice. :-) Annie

Staci,

What did you think of the CAMP acronym? I thought it might be a useful tool to keep focus. I also like the thought of considering overeating to be wasting food, but I still don't think I can just dump stuff out. I have no trouble when I'm eating out putting half my portion in a container or even just stopping at half the plate, but then I'm taking it home. I love the 50% idea for those all-you-can-trough buffets though. (I've always hated those!) I usually try to fill up half my plate with fruits and veggies at those things.

Thanks again for sharing that!

I really think that the whole website overall was fairly enlightening.

Thanks for the link..

I haven't got in depth with the site yet, will try that tomorrow morning (crazy day at work today).. but so far I"m agreeing with the general concept.

I eat at my desk all the time at work (while working). And most of the time I am eating my morning sandwich and I finish it before realising what's going on. I don't overeat because I only pack one sandwich and
