Losing this much weight can be such a slow and discouraging process that it's often hard to see how far we've come. What's the biggest, best, most significant change you've seen since you started your weight loss journey?

I am so glad you asked this because you made me think. I've been doing this for such a long time and the changes have been so gradual and small that I don't even notice them. But now that you asked, I can compare with when I first started.. the one that most stands out is this:

Before I started my journey we visited the fast food joint at least 3 times a week for dinner (or have delivery, darn that delivery option). I would polish off 2 big sandwiches (just like dh). Right now I can't finish off one sandwich and I only want it every 2-3 weeks, sometimes longer.

The biggest change I've seen in myself is that I will now eat salads!

The biggest change in me is encouragement I have to make sure I don't stop. 2 weeks and counting....even when I had a slip up I didn't let it defeat me. That would probably be the biggest change...to be devoted to it and not give up.

The biggest change that I feel is that I can jog short distance and run up a set of stairs and not breath hard or feel winded at the end. It amazes me. The biggest change I see, thats a hard one because I see myself so much differently than other people, but I can tell that my stomach is smaller and not hanging as low as it once was.

There are so many. I'm down from a size 26 to a 18 and some 16's. But mainly how I feel. I feel better. My feet don't hurt. I can shop all day long without pain. I can play on the floor with my son and not tip over or be in pain. I can even climb around in the tubes in McDonalds with him if I have to. Couldn't do THAT before! But really, I notice too, how people treat me so differently now. I don't get ignored as much anymore. I'm getting attractive again. Funny how people terat you different.

One thing I love is that people say 'I called you, but you must have been at the gym' and they are right! I was always intimidated by the very thought of walking in to the gym, and now it is like my 'hang-out' place.

And this morning I heard a commercial for something that prevents acid reflux and I realized that I never wake up with that horrible choking/burning feeling any more...and that is a great thing to lose!

How I'm naturally seeking out healthy foods. I'm packing fruit in my bag each day. I don't even think of going to the vending machine if I have wonderful apples and bananas near by. I wasn't really craving the junk food ... it was just handy.

The physical change I've noticed the most is that I'm just more comfortable moving. I've lost 20 lbs or so since January and I really was uncomfortable in my own skin. I'd like to lose more and I think I will, but really I feel so great right now it's not an imperative ... though I DO NOT want to gain again.

ENERGY.. I can play with my kids and not be exhausted after only a minute or two. I can take them for a 45 minute stroller ride and not make any stops to catch my breath.
