Hi. I am hoping to join your group. My name is Kerri and I have a long road ahead of me with the need to lose about 115 lbs. I started going to the gym about 2 weeks ago and have lost about 5-7 lbs so far. It's been a long journey putting on this weight, and it will be an even longer journey taking it off. Hope I can find some encouragement from you ladies to keep going strong!

Welcome Kerri and congratulations on your strong start. Take it from someone who has dropped weight quickly in the past only to pile it back on. Losing slowly improves your chances of keeping it off because hopefully you'll be making lifelong changes along the way. That's what I'm hoping for anyway. All the best,

Thanks Annie. I am hoping to lose it in a slow but steady manner, for a better chance to keep it off. I am excercising 5 days a week, and just watching what I eat, but not really dieting if you kwim. Just trying to eat healthier things, watching portions, increasing water intake, etc. With such a long road ahead of me, I sometimes get discouraged, but I try to remember that everyone's got to start somewhere. So this is my start.

welcome. remember slow wins the race. going slow your new changes become habits. it took me almost 4 years to lose my weight and so far have kept it off over 3 years. sounds like you are doing the right things, keep up the good work.

Hey Kerry! I'm new here too. I've got about 90lbs to drop...and I'm about to go through some bad times (the love of my life is moving back home until I graduate, financial situation) so I'm pretty much alone. I figure now is as good a time as any to really put a whole hearted effort into weight loss. I agree with you on the not really dietig part, just watching what you eat, getting exercise, etc. it makes it easier for me, at least. And thank god the weather is starting to get nice again, I can go back to walking outside vs. the treadmill!
