We just got back from "vacation".. we went to Wisconsin Dells.. we met our friends there(they have 5 kids) and live about 4.5 hrs north of us so the Dells is about 1/2 way for each of us) anyways we went to a hotel that has a huge indoor waterpark and amusement park

so we spent most of the week in our swimsuits.. I was a bit self consious at 1st, but after seeing some of the other females there that were my size and bigger that were wearing much more revealing swimwear I really didn't care. The only thing that really sucked is trying to eat healthy. most of the food at the snack bars were deep fried etc.. but we did make a couple of trips to the grocery store to get fruit, veggies, yogurt, etc..

the most "traumatic" thing for us, was that we finally took DD's nukkie away from her (she just turned 3 in February).. I figured it would be a good time to do it, since we would be away from home for a week, that way she wouldn't associate it with her own bed at home, plus we had the waterpark as a distraction... So.. just before we left on vacation we went to the build a bear store, she got to pick out the teddy bear and we had her put her nukkie inside the bear. She named her Shelly. It was kinda tough the 1st 2-3 nights but after that it was ok..

ok, i'll stop blabbing now.. I'm dreading weighing in on monday... urgghh..

Welcome back Sara! Sounds like you had a well-earned vacation. Congratulations on getting rid of the nukkie. What a great idea to put it at the heart of a build-a-bear! I've never heard of anyone doing that before. Enjoy the transition back to every day life! Annie

Welcome back Sara.. it looks like you really had a wonderful time. And the parks look really cool..

I've never heard of anyone do this with a paci before (a nukkie is a pacifier right?)... it's very original.. I like it.

Welcome back. Sounds like fun! that park looks amazing!

Congrats on getting rid of the paci. What a great idea about the bear!!! My cousin made her son a quilt and sewed one of his into one of the corner squares. so he could have it at night without having it in his mouth. worked very well.
