Just wondering if anyone has tried the Mayo Clinic diet. The one that is supposed to be for heart patients needing to lose weight quickly. I guess I'm kinda desperate. Needing to see results from something just to get me started. Struggling to get motivated. Need some help. My energy level is -10 and I'm the mother of a 2 yr old and 10 yr old a wife and I'm in school. So this is not working. Somebody help me please!!!

I haven't tried the mayo clinic diet myself, but I wanted to welcome you to the board and wish you good luck with your weight loss.
But I understand how frustrating it is to not see results. I personally found it helpful to work with a nutritionist for a jump-start (and mostly for accountability).
I hope someone here has tried this diet and can give you feedback.
Hi and welcome!
I was JUST thinking about this diet this morning! My father-in-law tried the Mayo clinic diet for a while a couple years ago and did really well. They used to have a ton recipes on their website that were very good. (Real recipes that I could make for my whole family.) One caution though, there is an actual prescribed diet and then there is an imposter diet floating around the internet where you eat ridiculous quantities of grapefruit.
Good luck! Hope to have you with us!

I use the Mayo Clinic stuff from their website. It's really easy to follow and very sound nutrionally. Includes journal sheets to keep track of what you are eating each day. The website recommends a calorie target for you that it then breaks out into the number of servings of each food category that you are allowed each day and then an additional 75 calories for fun stuff. Someone else posted the url for mayo clinic. You must register (it's free) and be logged in to actually get the food pyramid and the journal sheets and all. I think they also have a book that you can buy as well.
I've used this plan before with good weight loss success ... it's been keeping up the good habits that I haven't done and have gained weight back. I plan to use it into maintenance at higher calorie levels this time so I can keep my diet balanced. The very good plus side is that I always feel great and with more energy when I eat on this plan.
Good luck!
