Hi all,

I have to confess that I do not need to lose 100 lbs, probably more like 65-70. I have checked out the other boards, and most people there need to lose 30 lbs or less. That is far too depressing for me.

I am 33.5 years old. I am a SAHM to Xavier 5 and Kyle 3.75 years. I go to the gym 3-4 days a week and I play soccer on Fridays; usually 2+ games per Friday.
Exercise is not my problem. I love to exercise. I am much happier when I do. My problem is food. I eat with just about every emotion. I know that I need to eat less; be less of an emotional eater. If I could find a way to not eat when I am stressed or bored, I would lose the weight to much faster.

I guess I am looking for help with those two areas in particular. As I mentioned earlier, I am at home with my boys 99% of the time. My H works until 6pm or so every night, and is not extremely hands-on. I do all of the cooking, cleaning and kid things. He does play with them, to give me a break, after dinner. It's something, but yesh. I have talked to him about it many times (married 8 years), but it does not help.

I need to do this on my own, so to speak. I do need help though. I am not good at the calorie counting thing either. I am fine if it is prepackaged/counted for you, but I make home-made dinner meals, and have a devil of a time figuring calories and portions when I do.

I do want to note that my boys are very easy and well behaved, but they are little boys with all that entails :)

Anyway thanks for listening.

Akira

you are welcome here even if you don't have to lose 100lbs.

i don't have any advis for you in regards to emotional eating, cause i'm not one, i just over eat all the time... but there are many women here who can give you great advise. and i would suggest reading through some of the old posts which are very helpful..
the most recent one which had great advise was.. the "what is wrong with me" thread..

http://messageboards.ivillage.com/n/mb/message.asp?webtag=iv-fb100plus&msg=122714.1&ctx=0

It had some wonderful advise and insight into "healing" yourself.

good luck.

Of course you are welcome here. A lot of us arent' trying to lose a hundred pounds but rather a large amount of pounds. LOL yea someone trying to only lose 10 - 30 lbs would be depressing to be around everyday when you have twice that or more. PLEASE jump right on in.

WElcome Akira. We're not literal about the 100 pound thing. I'm glad you're with us as I am sure I could learn a lot from your great exercise example! All the best, Annie

Hi

I need to lose almost 200 and know the busy schedule thing! But I went past being busy exercising! So you have a good start already! Be proud of that ! About the food and cravings and finding what works for you. Just use the KISS method Keep it simple sweetheart( have to stay positive!)Have the first 2 meals exactly the same, something simple that you have always liked then well you know the rest! Lots of water too. Also think about the toxins in your body and learn about de-toxing your body. I've been reading a interesting book by Dr Oz , it's light and easy to read and a little bit funny even. So find some reading that keeps your mind in the game is good.
