DYK that the average american consumed over 63 pounds of HFCS (high fructose corn syrup) in 2001 and over 154 pounds of caloric sweeteners (namely sucrose (table sugar) and HFCS)?
From my understanding, HFCS is the worst because it doesn't trigger the chemical messengers that tell the stomach that the brain is full, which is why we can drink a 32 oz soda and still be hungry, even though it has a few hundred calories.
How much do YOU consume?

Staci,
Thanks for posting this!

I make a lot of my own foods, too, so I actually don't eat much HFCS (except in the candy I allow myself periodically, which I usually limit to about 100 calories a day).
