I can't make it if I'm not writing stuff down. I'm huge on to-do lists.. I like to write down goals and track them. It gives me a thrill. OK I'm weird LOL
I don't usually use formal outlined journals. I keep one on this board (down in the journals & challenges folder) and I use that for the formal tracking (goals, summary of the day, good & bad stuff, etc but not a detailed food log). I have a private blog(for my eyes only) for all the mess that I want to get off my chest. Mainly because I write down about almost everything, not necessarely weight loss related.
I journal something all the time. I've tracked exercise pretty seriously, and food off and on. I also keep a notebook where I write about my feelings, hopes, dreams, what makes me mad, etc. I've done that off and on since high school - sometimes every day, sometimes only an entry every month or two. It helps me a lot, and when I go back and read old journals I see how the same issues reappear over thirty years of journaling.
I have horrible handwriting so I know no one will ever be able to decipher them, but I do wonder what whoever ends up with my stuff 'someday' will make of the piles of notebooks - and yet I can't part with them because they are the story of my life...
