How do you treat yourself when you're feeling run down,

Here are my 3 favorites: A visit to the spa for a facial, massage or pedicure (particularly when I've been working out a lot); buy myself a CD or book I've been wanting; put money away for a little getaway as a bigger reward!

I go shopping for something I want, like new exercise clothes, manicure, pedicure, haircut.....Or if I don't have money I paint my nails, use a face mask...ect.

I am all about the rewards...I love manicures/pedicures/facials/massage.

I also buy myself flowers, both for my office and at home. I can buy them from street vendors for less than $10 and when people come to my office(ok, cubicle), they frequently ask-Who sent you flowers? I tell people flower arranging could be my alternate career.

I also will go have a lovely bubble bath if I find I am searching the cupboards - I cannot manage to eat in the tub...and I but myself fancy bubble bath and lotion when they are on sale at the Body Works store.

And of course I change my hair color every six weeks, which is always a treat...

I am kind of (ok very) self indulgent-which is only possible I think if you have no kids and no SO to have to account for the way you spend your money. I will pinch pennies in the oddest ways - cutting out coupons, making cards, buying day old produce - and then spend it 'foolishly', but the only person who gets to judge me about it is me.

It is well known that I like to do 'luxurious' things, and people will come by or call me and confide 'I had a facial yesterday' or 'I sent myself flowers'...and I always say 'Good for you'. They know I'll praise them for self-reward.

I went to a memorial service Sunday for someone who never married, and the minister told a story about how 'her cats always bought her exactly what she wanted for Christmas'. I don't have cats, so I have to acknowledge that the person who takes care of me is me...

Some things are specific rewards, some are just rewards for getting through the week.

Let's go shopping!

I don't really reward myself as much as I should, mainly cause I don't have any extra $$, but my most recent "reward" was my haircut..

(the biggest reward is seeing the #'s going down)
