Hello all, I am new here but I have been lurking a little the last week or so..I have been posting on the plus size friends ttc and ttc afterstill birth board and saw a follow me message somewhere. I have been big almost all my life but I am dephinately at an all time high 290 now and I am going the wrong way. I desperately need to get this weight off( we all feel that way I know) so that I can get pregnant again, I have had two m/c in the last eight year and this last summer I had at baby boy born sleeping at 38 weeks I got down to 230 before I got preg and so I am sure that helped(I have pcos)they don't know why our baby died he was normal and the autopsy didn't find anything conclusive but I know in my heart that my weight must have had something to do with it. I gained 70 lbs (35 in the last month water weight) lost some in the months following but now I am balloning back up and can't seem to get control I have the best reason in the world to take off this weight and I can't do it. I can't seem to stop eating, I can't commit to a plan. I am so tired and fustrated. What motivates you all to get off the couch and stay out of the fridge? I guess I need someone with a really big boot ha. Please help thanks you all Tanya (ps all is not awful I have a wonderful husband and a beautiful 4 year old daugher) Sorry to be such a downer.

Bless your heart. I mainly want to send HUGE ((((((HUGS)))))) your way. I had an ectopic a few years back and where I can't begin to say I know the pain you have felt, I do sympathize on some level. My friend also had a miscarriage and her lost her baby when she was only 10 hours old so I have seen the pain it can cause as well. Hon, I am so sorry you have had to deal with this.

Now that is said, as for motivation, you have to find it within yourself. I was told I had PCOS after my ectopic but I am not positive of the diagnosis as that is the only time it has EVER been mentioned, but I have read up on it just in case. PCOS can wreak havoc with weight loss and other issues as well. SO Take Annie's advice and talk to the dr on that front, and keep looking at your dh and dd and remember you are doing this for them as much as for yourself.

Welcome!! I'm glad you found us. sounds like you've been through alot.

i started out just making small changes.
like not going go back for 2nds, once i had my plate empty, i was done.
then once i got used to that then I started watching my portion sizes.
and drinking lots of water

and then start moving.. I don't really have any scheduled exercize routine, but i try to move/walk around whenever possible.

I'm sure the others will have many more words of inspiriation.

Thanks for the encouragement. I am feeling a lot more motivated the last few days. I went to the dr friday and found that I have lost 12 lbs since my last appt.(about 1 1/2 months) Not a ton for someone my size but you have to take what you can get. I guess even though it stresses me out I don't feel like I can get off the ttc bandwagon although we are going to try to downplay it a bit no monitors etc. but I do have to keep charting for documentation for the drs office. I guess I DO feel like there is a clock ticking I am going to be 31 this year and with my reproductive history it might be awhile. I motivated myself out of the house for a one mile walk with the dog this morning came back and downed a big glass of water. I need to get back on the comitment to drink all my water before I am allowed to drink anything else that really motivates me to get it all in and is a huge weightloss factor for me. Spring/Summer is finally here so that will help getting out. I am going to start a food journal on the board you are right writing down what I am eating helps, I can't really afford to go but the ww really worked for me so I just need to get on a plan and go with it. If I have a bad day just start fresh the next day. Well off to get the housework done before my kids get here(I run a daycare). Thanks and I will be sticking around. I look forward to getting to know you all. Tanya

Tanya, are you kidding??? 12lbs in 1.5 months is ABSOLUTELY AWESOME!!! You're doing a great job!!

I'm really happy to hear that you're having more motivation now and that you're taking the right steps. We have a water war going on, so if it helps you, you can join us (Two teams compete for higher water intake. We record the water we drink in oz,
