I was just wondering if any of you guys are going to Curves, or if you ever have? I'm going tomorrow for a guided tour and to get information about joining and was just curious as to what I could expect! I'm definitely interested in what the cost for membership is, etc.
I was a member for about 2 years. I liked it, but I got bored with the workout. It also seemed more of a social place than other gyms. By the time I stopped going I didn't really like it, they played music I didn't like at all.
Actually, I just started curves yesterday. The atmosphere is great, the circut is easy and quick, and even after only 1 workout, I feel better about the whole weight-loss process.
If you go in, they'll give you a quote. I know that with all health clubs, if you're not sure you want to sign up, they can be a little pushy, so I can understand your apprehension. I paid for my whole year up front, and it was 475.00, but I live in Ontario, and taxes here are 14% (not to mention the dollar difference between Canada and the states). Anyways, if you do the exchange rate, and adjust the taxes to your state, it should give you a pretty accurate amount. If you're feeling brave, just pop in and ask them. If they try to pressure you into joining on the spot, stand your ground. The centre I go to is really nice, and there was no pressure at all, but each one differs, obniously, depending on their management.
If I remember correctly it was about $30 a month for me with automatic withdrawl, there is also a registration fee, but I don't know how much that was but
