If so what was your expierence with it and did you loose weight with it? My husband and I are thinking of trying it together and I would just like to know how maybe it helped some of you. Any advice would be appreciative and aspects of the plan weather it was good or bad expierence for you is also appreciative. Thanks so much! Susan

I was on Slim Fast from February until last month, and I lost 15 lbs. Since I stopped, I gained 10 lbs back, so my fiance and I are trying it again. He's got a lot less weight to lose than I do... 20lbs maybe. But, coupled with exercise and healthy snacks and suppers, Slim Fast was the easiest, best thing I've tried to date.

I was trying different slim fast products when looking for quick, easy low cal, high protein products for lunch at work and breakfast before work. Hated the slim fast ready made cans - all yucky tasting to me and left me hungrier than going without, the make your own were a little better tasting, but again were not enough for me. Somehow drinking 8oz. just does not satisfy my hunger. The optima meal replacement and snack bars were just plain gross tasting. There were some "crunch" snack bars that tasted ok, but they were soooo messy to eat at work - just broke up with each bite leaving crumbs all over me and my desk and floor, no matter how careful I was, and those had a low protein also. Not for me...

Hi,

I tried it! I did lose weight on the Slim Fast Program, but I got discouraged because I had so much weight to lose.

I would have a shake in the morning for Breakfast, a bar as a snack around 11 AM, another shake for Lunch, a bar for my afternoon snack and a light supper: chicken grilled, small sweet potato, small tossed salad and 2 pieces of fruit in the evening for my evening snack. My program was about 1500 calories. I hope that this helps. Good luck! It is a great idea to do it together with hubby.

Hi!

I was also thinking of trying the SlimFast Plan so I talked to my godmother who is very knowledgeable in the nutrition area. Turns out her cousin actually died while he was doing SlimFast. I'm sure that there were other things involved in this but the fact that the only thing he consumed a day was SlimFast definitely played a major role. I guess, like everything else, do it in moderation.

Thanks Annie for the message. I guess I better do some research about it because I had no idea that it could leave residue in your blood stream and intestines. What exactly would that cause? I just feel like I am so anxious to get this weight off of me that I would be willing to try anything. I know I need to exercise more and DH and I are definately going to do that. We used to have TCBY here where I live but it's no longer here and I used to love going there but I guess oh well. Anyway thank you again. -Susan

I tried the slimfast plan a few times using both the powder and the ready made shakes. I have also tried the nutrition bars they offer. I for one found myself starving a few hours after drinking my breakfast even thou I was eating a small piece of fruit as a snack before the lunch time shake. It just seemed like the shake wasnt enough and it also made my blood sugars rise because of the sugar content. I did find myself loosing weight while on the plan but again it was because of the low calorie content that the plan seems to allow. It seems as though by the time that the day was over I was under 1000 calories. But now that I am eating correctly according to the caloric limits given by my dietician I am a little slower at loosing the weight but I am not hungry during the day either.

Good Luck on what you decide. It is important to find the plan that works for you!!!!!

I've only tried the shakes (both pre-made and the powder) they aren't too bad, but I don't think I could handle being on it full time.

I have a good friend who lost over 100 lbs doing it, but once she quit she gained it all back.

Hi Susan,

I haven't been on the plan, but sometimes go through periods of drinking a canned shake as part of my breakfast, often blended with ice. (Not really a breakfast girl, but I like to get some protein in if I can, and that's an easy way to do it.) I do use their website for tracking my meals though, LOL! But I'd prefer to stick to "real food" if possible... something makes me think it will be a more sustainable lifestyle change that way.

Never heard the "residue" thing before, although it's probably true. Ew. Have to check that out further...
