Weight Watchers - oils

Hi all,
Day 2 and I did really well and I went to Step Class. I actually have 5 points left and I got in my veggies/fruits and daily (and all my water +). However, what do you all - who are on WW - do for oils?? How do you get those in a day? I figure that I'll just take a vitamin. I have not idea, I'm not really a fish eater - where else can you get them?
Thanks! And -- IT'S ALMOST FRIDAY!

Hi, I used to post here several years ago and have been lurking for the past few months. I have been doing weight watchers for the past few years. The oils they are talking about are unsaturated fats. They help with vitamine absorbtion, and also provide fat. Even though we don't want a lot of fat, we still need some fat for our body to function properly. Most people tend to get too little fat when they go on a diet. You can get these fats and oils through foods like avacados, olives, nuts, and fish like salmon. YOu can also start cooking with healthy oils like sesame, canola, olive, and peanut oil. Stir fry some veggies in olive oil, or drizzil a little over your veggies when you grill them, top your yogurt or cereal off with a little flax seed or nuts, or dip your carrots in hummus. I love flax seed. I put a little on my yogurt and it gives it a little crunch. It provides a nutty taste and it helps prevent cancer. The most important thing is to use the oils it in moderation and stay away from the ones that are high in saturated and trans fats.
Hope this helps. sharla
Hi Sharla, thanks for delurking and giving us so much useful
my nutrition professor told me last semester that commercial supplements are useless and used from parts of the fish that are not going to benefit you ....
she said to use the doctor prescribed supplements, as they are a little better, if you have to use them at all
