Off to a Very intresting start

Good Afternoon everyone! Ok so week one has been intresting, I was preparing myself for the complete fridge change over and at the same time i wanted to get rid of the junk in my house. I set a Goal for myself and that was to exercise 30 min every day and to lose a small 2 pounds. I did that everyday but Sat as I was not feeling very well, I have been comming down with a nasty cold since friday and soup has been my life saver. However on Sat my throat was so raw that the only thing i wanted was at the dairy queen down the street. So after whining and moping i convinced my boyfriend to take me.. and the pug =) I got my blizzard and the puppy got her puppy treats. I felt bad afterwards as I am suppose to be watching what i eat. This morning when I was packing lunch and really looking at what i was doing and packing the correct portions for the mini meal program it kinda hit me like a lead weight, that i should be enjoying the foods not obsessing over them. So that felt good , and than i jumped on the scale with fear in my eyes because 6 days ago I was 300 pounds, my heaviest yet, and today i was 297.5 . So my goal for this week is 3 pounds loss and 30 min of exercise every day.

It sounds like you had a good start! Hope you are feeling better. Maybe when you aren't in 'crave' mode, you can think of a few things that might have been better choices than a blizzrd (sugar free popsicles? A home made smoothy with skim milk and lowfat frozen yogurt?) If you have some ideas as back up, it can help to resist the things you will feel badly about eating later.
The food part is tough - I find I have to pay a lot of attention to buying and preparing the right food-but there are a lot of great choices that you can make and the food can be delicious. Some of the people who journal have great ideas. I eat the same things for breakfast and my snacks almost every day, but I have a rotation for my lunches and a lot of variety at dinner, and I don't feel deprived, just planning challenged!
Best wishes on your journey.

I didn't get a chance to welcome you before, so first off, Welcome aboard!!!
Congratulations on your first successful weigh in. Looks like you did a great job.. and you're very committed to exercise.. you go!!!
Wishing you all the success in week 2. And as SJ mentioned, it really helps to plan alternatives, so when a craving hits, you're more prepared.
