I have several Winsor Pilates DVDs. I like them, but don't do them anymore, of course my mil has them right now. Depending on which ones you get you may need other equipment, but most of the DVDs don't need anything of course having a mat is nice, but not necessary.

I take a pilates class at my gym-in my head I go once a week but in reality it is two or three times a month!

It is for beginner/intermediates, and the only thing we use is an exercise mat and our own bodies.

I've never done them from a video, but I do use a series of ab exercies from the On Demand part of my cable that is very similar to the Pilates moves. I had to watch a few times to get the hang of it, and its kind of odd to repeat them over again because of course the 'little jokes' come at the exact same place every time...but it means someone else makes the plan and I like that.

I like pilates as an alternative to some of the other things I do. The stretching feels good and it is challenging, but I feel like its good as part of a program that includes cardio and strength training-for me it wouldn't be enough on its own.

Give it a try, you might love it.

Our cable company offers "On Demand" programming, including Exercise TV which gives me a chance to try out a lot of different work outs.
