frustrated - need some new ideas

Ladies, a little bit of venting and a little bit of pleading.

I'm stalled. And I'm getting very very frustrated!!!!! I'm at 219. I have only 5 pounds to go before I reach the 100 mark. And two weeks, I'm only fluctuating to 217.5 and 219. I can't get down and stay down!!!! I increased my walking by a mile. I met my personal goal of walking 7,000 steps a day. (met it just the other day) So I am increasing my exercise. My diet is at 1000 cals a day. and I'm a little nervous to go below that. If I do, I start to get dizzy when I'm walking. It's soo hot out, I'm sweating when I'm walking so I am imagining the pounds melting off, but they aren't!!!!!! I want that 100 mark so bad, I can taste it. and I have set a goal to be below 200 by August - but now I don't think I'm gonna make it! And I could cry, cause my reward for being below 200 was to waterski for the first time in 18 years.

PLEASE - any ideas, of what I can increase/decrease/do would be appreciated!!!!

Sample of my normal diet:
breakfast: coffee w/ splenda, piece of fruit (about 4 cups of coffee till lunch)
lunch: slimfast optima
snack: 5 penny stick pretzel rods and diet coke w/splenda (they are 50 cals for all 5)
Dinner: 3oz steak, 1/4 cup rice, salad w/ lite asian sesame dressing
snack: 1/2 cup low fat, no sugar ice cream.

thanks ladies, sorry I have been absent for so long, life is still crazy insane :(

do you think stress could be keeping it on?? I don't know, I'm at such a loss :(

*hugs*

ohh and wanted to add: I take multivitamins every day to make sure I'm getting all my nutrients, since I am at such a low cal diet.

Could it be you aren't eating enough?? I mean increasing exercise and only 1000 calories a day, I worry you aren't getting enough to sustain the exercise. YOu body could be saying she is starving me i have to hold on to this. Maybe you could try increasing your calories to say 1200 for a week and see what happens. I am no expert of course but from all I have read on here that seems to be a distinct possiblity!

Kim,
It might be counter-intuitive, but maybe you need to up your calories a little. If you are more active, your body might be trying to hold on to what it's got to give it the fuel it thinks its going to need. Try adding something very controlled, like a carton of yogurt or a protein bar to what you are eating now (amazingly, some protein bars are delicious!)

And as for your reward - do you think you are physically unable to waterski at your current weight? Or are you denying yourself something you really want because of a number on the scale?

If you are physically unable, then what exercise do yo need to do to get strong enough? Try adding that to your routine.

If you are looking at 'the number', I say throw the scale out the window, get on your waterskiing clothes (go buy them if you need to)and get in the boat. If you are so close to your goal, don't let a plateau keep you from your dreams...success will re-inspire you- And sweetie, life is WAY too short to deny yourself any pleasure...

Best wishes on meeting your dreams!

Angela,
Do we have ESP?

I think we were typing almost the same words at the same time!

Happy Saturday!

lol, upping calories... now there is something I definitely did not consider, but got a wee bit excited to think of. Although, I'm so used to my calorie intake now, it's gonna be difficult actually adding to it...

As for the skiing. Thru the weight loss so far, i set myself goals and rewards that when I reach them. It has been working, and it's not always scale goals. It can be clothes size, or exercise achievements (like how many steps I take a day). For the skiing it was a scale number. And basically cause it will be easier for the boat to pull me up, if I'm lighter and there for less stress on my knees in getting up. (I will be wearing knee braces when I go, cause I have weak knees) I have added squats to my exercise to strengthen them, though so that they aren't distressed too much.

thank you sooo much for replying! :) and Angela too, for the same advice ;)

kim,
Wow you really lost a lot of weight already. I would think eatting AN orange or drinking an energy drink may help.

decrease the coffee, it makes you retain water, and inhibits iron absorption into your body ....

ok, I will go with consesus and up the calories by 200. But don't worry about my not eating enough. The slimfast, proteins and fruit and salad, exercising combined with my vitamins, I'm healthier than ever. I see my doctor regularly thru out this whole process. It's become a life style change. I do have Pizza or hoagies or McD's occasionally. I don't deny myself, I just plan for it.

and, I will also take the advice about the coffee... gahh, that is gonna be hard, LOL. that is one thing I have not given up, my caffeine... What do you guys think... if I increased water do you think I wouldn't have to give up the coffee? Right now, I do about 64 - 72 oz a day.

LOL, I am not going to say increasing water would make up for the coffee but I do understand how hard it is to give up some things. IF you have the slightest problem with headaches, if you do decide to cut the caffine DO IT VERY SLOWLY!!!
