NEW TO THE BOARD...VERY FUSTRATED!!!

I have been working out at my local gym since July...the only weight i have lost was 6lbs.


Recently i was upset and i haven't went back for 2 weeks...Im trying to get my motivation to go back and i said that this week was the week...I have already started out wrong....I haven't gone today...


I always read that people get a lot of energy and feel great after a work out.I don't...I do 60 minutes of cardio and

From what you've told us I'm guessing that you're starving your body...you're not eating enough and I'm wondering how well the food that you're choosing is actually fueling your body for your workouts.

This is the thing. I was tracking my activites and food on pyramidusda website.


I showed this to my doctor and she said that 1300 calories was too much and i need to go down to 800-900 calories a day. I thought this was crazy so

Hello and welcome to the board! Wow it sure sounds like you arent eating enought. I was put on an 1800 calorie a day diet. Some days I make that and some I'm over and others I'm just shy of making it. I know everyone is different but man that isn't many calories. I would try eating logging your exercise and what you eat everyday maybe you are eating even less than what was recommended for you. I cant offer any other advice but I can tell you you have come to the right place for support and motivation!!!

If I work out for 30 minutes I feel GREAT afterwards. But if I do any more then that at one time I feel like poop all day long. Maybe you are pushing yourself to much at one time. Try breaking up your work outs. 15 minutes at a time is fantastic for me. I just will do it several times a day and take a walk. Just don't poop yourself out all at one time.

Wendy made a good point. I was very disappointed at the end of September when I had only lost 5 pounds all month. But then I took my measurements and I had lost an inch in my waist and 2 inches in my hips! So I KNOW that what I was doing was paying off. Even if I didn't feel that the scale was showing it.

HI AND WELCOME TO THE BOARD!! I AM NEW TO THE BOARD ALSO. I HAVE GOT SOME IDEAS FOR YOU. I HAVE FOUND IF YOU EAT SOMETHING EVERY 3-4 HOURS YOU KEEP YOUR METABOLISM UP AND YOU BURN MORE CALORIES. IT SOUNDS REALLY ODD BUT IT IS TRUE THAT THE MORE YOU EAT THE MORE YOU LOSE. WE HAVE BEEN PROGRAMMED THAT EATING LESS WILL HELP US LOSE WEIGHT BUT IT IS NOT TRUE. IT REALLY WORKS BUT IT IS SOMETIMES HARD WHEN YOU WORK AND CAN'T STOP WHAT YOU ARE DOING TO EAT. I HAVE READ THAT IF YOU ARE DOING THE SAME EXERCISES AND YOU AREN'T LOSING AS MUCH YOU SHOULD CHANGE AND DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT. IT IS SUPPOSED TO GET YOUR METABOLISM REVVED UP AGAIN. I DO CURVES 3 TIMES A WEEK FOR 30 MINUTES EACH DAY. BUT SOMETIMES I DO 45 MINUTES INSTEAD OF 30 AND SOMETIMES I GO 6 DAYS A WEEK. I'VE EVEN DONE 60 MINUTES 3 TIMES A WEEK AND THAT SEEMS TO MIX THINGS UP. WHEN YOU FIRST LOG ON TO THIS SITE THERE IS A PLACE TO CLICK ON TO TAKE A QUIZ AND FIND OUT HOW MANY CALORIES YOU NEED TO LOSE WEIGHT. I FOUND THAT INTERESTING YOU MIGHT ALSO. SO MY ADVICE IS TO FIND OUT HOW MANY CALORIES YOU NEED TO LOSE WEIGHT AND EAT EVERY 3-4 HOURS AND EXERCISE AND MIX IT UP NOT THE SAME THING. GOOD LUCK AND KEEP US UPDATED!!!!
