Food myths we tell ourselves

This was inspired by Sunflowers honest fast food post.

I have a few 'food myths' I tell myself...well, I try not to, but

Broken cookies? No Calories

Food eaten on my (or anyone else's) birthday? No Calories

Food eaten in any moving vehicle (trains, planes, automobiles, buses)? No Calories

Food eaten off someone else's plate? No Calories

Food eaten in the dark? No Calories

Food eaten at a movie, sporting event, carnival, party? No Calories

Food 'tasted' while cooking? No Calories

Anyone have any to add?

Having the diet soda negates the dessert's calories!

what a good thing to bring up I'm sure alot of us have this problem

food eaten off a fork or spoon but no plate is dirtied-no calories

food eaten directly from the carton- no calories

food eaten directly from a bag- no calories

food drank out of a glass- zero calories

we find all kinds of ways to justify our food intake that is why I must follow the you bite it you write method no matter how big or small a portion.

Right now, the food myth that's causing me the most harm is:

Healthy food... no calories.

Ugh! Fruit is good for you, but unfortunately it's full of sugar. And like everything else, I must practice moderation.

Y'all have hit my top ten! My worst was was if nobody sees me eat it, no calories. I live alone! Uh oh...

And Tracie... Wow, I've had an ah-ha moment. Healthy food has calories that add up too. Thanks!

Nuts are a healthy substitute for salty, crunchy chips, so eat all you want!
