My son got engaged on Friday...

I am very happy for your son, and you! And your mother sounds a lot like my aunt so I can relate a little. Fortunately, with an aunt, you can get away with calling on holidays and birthday and don't have the weekly call to contend with. I know you love her, and you can love her and not her way of thinking and living. I hope you can separate the two, it can be hard.

And I'm with SJ, with the family of the groom, less pressure. You can just sit back as much as they'll let you and you do what you want to. Enjoy!
