If someone I didn't know asked me to tell them about me, what is the first thing that comes to mind?
"I am a somewhat frumpy, over-weight, middle-aged divorced woman."
Hmmmmm.
In the past week, I've done these things to take care of myself:
I dyed my hair.
SJ,
I'm so happy that you're back!
Liz,
This is a great post.
Barb,
Even your signature on your ivillage account shouts out that you're a loving, giving, compassionate lady.
Barb
It's really a thought provoking question, isn't it?
Boy this made me think. Im still thinking. I have terrible self esteem and as a chld growing up I was told many negative things about myself and I don't think I really have any positive qualities! I know that I do deep down but I just feel so bad about myself that I always push them away! I don' t know how to even begin treating myself better when I think I don't deserve to be treated any better. Im really gonna have to work on this one. Heck I use to wear makeup and style my hair and have a manicure and pedicure done or treat myself to a new book. Now Im luck to paint my own nails and as the weight as piled on and is starting to come off I still don't think I've changed enough of me to treat myself any better than when I was 330 pounds.
Why do we do this to ourselves? Im glad you posted this because I've now made a goal to write down 2 ways a day I can treat myself better! Thanks for sharing!
