Hey yall.

I'm new here to this board. I'm hoping to get support and give support to those of us wishing to lose alot of weight! I have about 95-100 total to lose and I think its going to be tough! Currently, I jazzercise and go to a body sculpting class. I LOVE to walk/run, however, this darn plantar fasciitis has me not being able to walk or run without extreme pain. So, I have to find other ways to lose weight. So, how did I get this large? Well, divorce, new friends = out to eat alot!! I don't care what they say - eating out will make ya gain weight! I am now not going out to eat (MAYBE once a week lunch, but nothing more), and I fill myself with salads, baked chicken, protein drinks, and snacks such as carrots, or celery, or even nonfat pudding. This is SO hard. Most my friends are either of average weight or not wanting to work out. So, I'm on my own. I do have a friend who wants to start running. I'll try that slowly, but I'm not sure how I'll do with my foot. :( I'm wanting to learn to like the elliptical machine or even the bike, but nothing beats walking/running to me.
Just wanted to say hi & have a place I can come to for food/workout advice and to cheer me on. And for me to cheer yall on as well!! We can do it!!!

Yes, I belong to a gym, but for some reason, I haven't been consistent with it lately. I'm going to make a point to go every day next week!! Today, its so pretty out, I'm going to the park to walk.

I'm wanting my gym to start a Pilates class. I'm thinking the light impact would be good!!

Fast food from a drive thru is now a thing of the past. Hubby and I are making trips to the grocery store and farmer's market, at least twice a week for fresh produce. It is really helping me.

Hi, dreamermae,

Welcome and been there-done that too. I got divorced and the kids went off to college. I started grabbing drive-thru food on the way home for dinner, since there was no one to cook for---then I started dating again---which meant eating out and bad food choices, way too often.

I hear you about the elliptical. I am trying to like it. I used it 4 days, last week.
