Who would have ever thought I would be celebrating being overweight?

Thank you, tiffanywesttx, for your comments:

"The reason someone weighs what they do, has to do with how many calories they burn versus how many calories they take in.

A lower body weight is not just handed to someone by another person."

Although I agree that too many calories and too little exercise yields weight gain.

Tiffany,

Genetics play a major role in a persons' body type and metabolism.

Yes, weight is a function of calories consumed and calories burned, but even at 5' 8" and 115 pounds in my 20's, my butt and thighs were huge compared to the rest of me.

Why?

Sorry, not familiar with cultural genetics.

The reason someone weighs what they do, has to do with how many calories they burn versus how many calories they take in.

A lower body weight is not just handed to someone by another person.

Isn't it wonderful to know that people notice?!

I've posted many times out here about someone I haven't seen in a long time that says "Wow!

I think the most important and useful trait in life is a good sense of humor.

I actually had something similar happen to me but it wasn't at work....the neighbor girl who is 13 has seen me walk everyday with the dog rain or shine for the last several months up until i had a stress fracture and I had to stop. I attended a babyshower on sunday that she attended as did her family. Infront of everyone she asked if I had weightloss surgery! The room got quiet and I swore I was gonna fall over when her mother said that isn't nice you know better!!! LMAO! I stood up as everyone was looking at me and twirled around so everyone could see my 44.6 pound loss and said with a smile.....no for me surgery wasn't necessary I have lost 44.6 pounds by changing my lifestyle and cutting out the junk food and walking or biking everyday. I am proud of the changes I have made and thank you so much for noticing! Her face turned bright red! LMAO!!!

I've worked so hard that it doesn't bother me if the people i don't particulary associate with notice or not but if I hear them mention it im gonna flaunt my new self I deserve it! :)
