I am currently taking my first writing workshop class...and think the insight im getting is absolutely immeasurably valuable. however, i'm realizing that once this class is over i have no idea how to find another workshop like this. how do you get involved in writing workshops outside of the basic college classroom? where do you look or how do you put one of your own together?

I teach workshops, so I'm the one usually found! I teach all over the place, brought in by writers' groups, libraries, continuing ed programs, community colleges, etc.

I also teach at the Muse Online Writers' Conference, a free virtual conference every October -- just did it last week. Huge amounts of students, all of whom I push very hard, and often writing groups and additional workshops form out of that.

Good luck.
