Today my mom came and we made turtles for a few hours. No mints because we don't like the homemade mints so we used chocolate, pecans (I brought them back from Texas this winter) and caramel and more chocolate! They are gorgeous. Tomorrow we take them to the place where the reception will be. Then check with the florist one last time. DD and her fiance get their license tomorrow and chat with her uncle who will be giving the message. He is a Pastor, too. He won't marry them....our pastor from our church will marry them but the message will come from her uncle. Then on Wednesday is clean the house day. Mow the yard day. I am sending DD off to help her dad that day. She can have one last "farming" day before she gets married.
On Thursday we go see if we're happy with the way that tables are getting set up, deliver napkins, nuts, etc. Thursday eve the "girls" go out. Friday we go see if we like the decorating....put our last two cents in, and get a manicure. Yes, DD and I are getting manicures together. We've never had one and thought it would be fun!! Friday night is rehersal and then rehersal dinner. Saturday at 9am the girls get their hair fixed, 1pm is pictures and 5pm the wedding begins. There will be the wedding, reception and wedding dance. And on Sunday the married couple will open gifts at our house in the afternoon and relatives will be here so there will be lots of food.
I am going to try to make this week as much fun for DD and her fiance as possible. As little stress for all of us as possible and try to make it wonderful memories! Wish us luck.
Now that you know what my week will be like, I guess you'll figure out why I haven't been posting much these last few days and why I probably won't post much this week. I'll try to check in off and on but .....
Everyone wish us well. I know that I'll gain a few pounds over this one and guess what? I don't care! LOL
