Mid Week-Wedding Week

I thought I'd update you all on how things are going here. This is definately off topic so if you're not into "off topic" things, you don't want to continue on reading this post. LOL

Things are going well here. The yard is mowed, weeded and looking as good as it ever has and probably ever will look again. The house is spotless from top to bottom. Now, just to keep it that way till Sunday when the gift opening party is here. We've checked and double checked the arrangements and I don't know what else we can possibly do to make sure that things are going to run smoothly. Today and tomorrow we'll have to run to town to check the decorating. We're getting down to the wire.

I have not been eating well at all. I've snacked too much for about 1 1/2 weeks now. I've exercised "off and on" but I've gained some weight. I stepped on the scale and I'm up a pound or two already. But I'll get it back off as soon as the wedding is over.

I am starting to wake up very early in the morning .... not really worrying about things but definately thinking about them and wondering and hoping if we're doing everything right? Or at least doing everything that we should be doing.

So far, we've had a wonderful week. I am hoping that we can keep things fairly stress free for dd and her fiance. DH and I are both doing pretty well. At least on the surface....I'm like a duck, though. I'm trying to appear calm on top but I'm paddling furiously underneath. LOL I would appreciate a couple of extra prayers from all of you, please. We're getting to the very emotional part soon. I want to be able to be calm and very happy for dd and not be a weepy eyed mom.

I hope that you are all doing well this week. I'll never be able to catch up on all the posts.....I'm just hoping that if there's anything "life changing or mega-important" that you'll let me know.

Nancy (mother of the bride)

Sounds as though you have everything under control and now all that's left is the fun part!! What does your dress look like? What color are the bridesmaids' dresses? What are her flowers like? We want details. ;-)

Hugs,

Rhonda

Nancy, all my best wishes and prayers go out to you and your family. I have to tell you a story of when my ds got married. I was afraid I would totally loose it and cry in church but all of a sudden I feel my dh shaking and when I looked over at him he was just sobbing! I felt as though I needed to be there for him so I kept control of my emotions and comforted him. Then the next morning when we were getting ready to head out to dil's parents house for the gift opening I was in the kitchen alone. I sat down by the table and totally lost it. I sobbed and sobbed and sobbed........it was my turn. So if you need to, let those tears come...they are happy tears, tears of joy, tears of relief. Lots of love coming your way. Best of luck, lisa

Nancy,

I woke up this morning thinking about the wedding drawing nearer. I was so pleased to see your update. It sounds like everything is running smoothly. Hope you have taken a couple of pictures of the yard to enjoy later.

I have thought of you daily and will continue to say a prayer for a continued joyous occasion for you and your family.

Hope your future SIL understands he's getting a gem for a MIL!....Margie

You are so refreshing! I love how excited you are. There comes a time in every wedding plan when you just have to let go and sit back and enjoy. That time is fast approaching for you. I'm sure it is going to be perfect no matter what you may have forgotten. Just don't forget to take the marriage license to the church...like me and my ex did. My Mom had to make a mad dash back to home (30 miles away) before the wedding could start.

It's gonna be great!

Nancy - I love your analogy to the duck. That's how I'm feeling today, but my reason is hardly so joyous! It sounds like everything is going wonderfully in the Dakotas for this special day. You've done a great job keeping on top of all the details. Now don't forget to enjoy the party and all the rest of it, MOTB, and let whatever emotion happens Saturday happen. Joy expresses itself in many ways!

Hugs,

Donna
