Good morning everyone.

We made it to Friday and I hope it was a good week for everyone. If it wasn't...what could change to make it a great weekend and a better week to look forward to?

Its still an oven here but I've been really good about getting in my workouts in every day. We got one of those Free standing swamp cooler type things that you can move from room to room and its made a huge difference. I can just roll it in front of the treadmill and keep going. Also, put it in the bedroom at night and I sleep great...love it! BTW..has anyone noticed that their heart rate is much higher in the heat? Most of my workouts have been more like a very slow jog and power walk so I can stay in the "slow burn" zone.

OK...what's on the agenda today for workouts?

Good Morning

It's Friday, it's payday and it's my last day of work before starting a week of vacation-I'm really looking forward to leaving the workday grind behind for a week. Not sure what we're going to be doing but at least I won't be at work! Will have to clean up a lot of little things to ensure there are no phone calls!

Went to bed early last night and slept late this morning so there was no workout this morning. It was such a beautiful morning for a walk but maybe will attempt an evening walk or maybe just a stroll with Otto.

Today's workout:

Cough uncontrollably every 10 minutes then deal with post nasal drip. Rinse and repeat.

This cold is unbearable. I have no voice left. The lozenges have left my tongue numb but I can somehow still taste. Very strange since I can't smell anything. My head aches and I WANT TO GO HOME!!!

We got up to 105 yesterday. Unbelievably hot. I think I was in the Slow Burn zone just walking the dogs.

Going to see my son tomorrow afternoon. Other than that, nothing exciting.

I did it all this a.m. - 3 mi. run, UB/LB and ab work (didn't get a workout in yesterday), so now I'm zonked. Today is not going to be fun - meeting and no lunch hour as my coworker is on vacation. Then it's work at Dillard's. If I can make it thru Friday of next week, I will be doing good. Have to work 13 hrs. this weekend.

15 min. project - ha! Maybe I will get to eat a sandwich at my desk.

Calgon take me away . . .

Friday already!!!Can't believe it.What could make my week better?I would love to have a couple of days where I could just loaf and sit around and talk with girlfriends who understand how I feel.I'm truly grateful for all I have in life but some days the "need to do" list just overwhelms me.Being a responsible grown up is not for wimps!!!

Ok, today the need to do list is long and on it are cardio and weights.My body is in real need of toning.I'm working hard at my diet. The thought that comes to me every day, more than once, is that I have to make long term stick with it changes.I'm taking it one day at a time because the long term thought is slightly overwhelming!!

I'm glad you mentioned the heartrate and heat.I tried to run the other day when it was hot and humid and really felt it.

No plans for the weekend, the usual CL work.Suppose to be beautiful so will have to plan time to relax and enjoy the weather.

I awoke at 3:45 to go to the bathroom and when I went back to bed I couldn't sleep so I got up and wandered the house for awhile and then decided to get on my biking gear and out I went. I did 20.5 miles by 7 a.m.

My project for today is to do alot of baking. I need to get some done for our vacation in a week and also to mail to my middle ds out in NY for his birthday.

My weekend plans are actually to go to Heritagefest on Saturday night and then to the parade on Sunday. My brothers and sister will be coming up on Sunday so we can all watch the parade with mom and dad. Should be fun.

Phyllis theres a cool breeze coming at us from the east. Hopefully it will hit your area soon. Temps here today have really cooled down. Feels great!

Today will be cleaning, running errands, grocery shopping, baking, and getting ready for my upline Gold from MD house guest to arrive for several days again.

VERY busy weekend ahead. No beach time, I'm afraid. -- not only visiting with the 6 relatives who are already here, but my sister from MD arrives tomorrow morning.

Tomorrow I'll be cooking and have the BIG wellness preview I've been planning for a month at my younger sister's house. If this goes well it would make my week (month!)fabulous!!

Sunday is a large family reunion I've been helping plan for months. Dad has 6 living brothers and sisters with kids, grandkids, and some great grandkids, so have no idea how many will actually be there. No wonder Tim left for CA!! ;-) We haven't done this in almost 5 years. We have a photographer lined up for it.

Thank goodness - what a LONG week! What could make next week better for me would be that my CAR doesn't BREAK DOWN. Argh. I got it back, surprisingly, Wednesday evening. It turned out to be more expensive, for when the garage put the new distributor in, they found that the main computer board was fried. So instead of a $400 repair, it was $900 - ouch. But kudos for the garage, they only charged us for one hour of labor, and I must say, she runs better than she has in 2-3 years. Yesterday the glass for the busted out window came in, and it was installed by evening. Yay, we're finally whole again! Now we're agonizing over a car purchase. One of DH's buddies has a friend who is a Big Wheel with Subaru, and he's setting us up to be able to buy a car at $300 over dealer invoice. Wow. So now it's just a matter of us making the decision and forking over the cash (we won't finance unless we can get 0% financing for a few years and the fellow seemed to indicate that was possible). It's a standing offer, so we can act on it whenever we're ready. I think we might soon just because it's hanging over our heads. We're tired of thinking about cars.

Not sure if I'll work out or do some yard work - with all the rain we've had this spring and so far this summer, our bushes are going nuts. So are the weeds in the natural areas. I might go ahead and do the cardio tape which gets me some weight work, plus abs. I've added 10# weights as my "heavy" dumbbells, and when stepping, I can feel it up through the glutes!

15 minute project, vacuum out the Sprout again for good measure. Broken glass seems to lurk. Weekend plans, continuing yard work.

Good morning!

Workout tonight - the works. Didn't work out Thursday evening - see next.

Project that must get done - did it Thursday after we got home from dinner (menu below) - the mail and the bills. Feeling overwhelmed by the mail - too much stuff, almost like Christmas time with the catalogues. It all lands in a pile, I get to it when I feel like I can organize, and find a bill that should have been paid a week ago. Same bill, late 2 months in a row. I smell a big fat interest rate increase coming my way.

Weekend plans: Saturday - yard work before the rain comes; Sunday - visiting the kids. Boy, did I miss them while they were on vacation! My niece lost her first tooth the day before they came back - the permanent tooth pushed it out of the way. Although my nephew hates the telephone as much as I do, he's becoming more of a conversationalist, doing more of his own talking instead of letting his sister carry the ball.

Dinner Thursday night: DH worked through lunch and was starving by the time he got into town, and wasn't enthusiastic about Tex-Mex. So we went to a steakhouse nearby - definitely not Outback! We shared a crab cake appetizer (apparently I'm not sensitive to crab, so crustaceans are back on my ok-to-eat list, but shellfish aren't yet), we each had a gigantic salad with creamy garlic dressing (on the side), and shared mashed potatoes flavored with celery root and horseradish, and asparagus with REAL hollandaise. He had a ribeye and I had a petite fillet. Both so tender you could have cut them with the side of a spoon. We also shared dessert - key lime pie. Yummy!

Back to salad, dry tuna, and raw veggies today - got them in my bag.
