4. What's something people would be surprised to know about you?

-- In "the olden days" I rode on a plane to Washington, D. C. with the Johnny Winter Band. The bassist came back and sat with me. Janis Joplin had died the week before and was on the cover of "Rolling Stone." I left him my copy of it to read as they continued on to Boston.

1. What are you looking forward to about August?

It's DH's birthday month, and it's one month closer to autumn.

2. Where's your favorite restaurant to "do lunch?"

Laurel Grill - Corner of Berkeley Street and Columbus Avenue. That's for anyone coming to Beantown in the near future....

3. Where's your favorite restaurant for dinner?

The White Barn Inn in Kennebunkport, Maine - Super special! Wish I had the bankroll to support more frequent visits. Locally - I can't pick. Too darn many good places within a 3-mile drive of home, and they're all independents, not chains. Such a problem to have!

4. What's something people would be surprised to know about you?

In a gathering of strangers, I'm much shyer than you'd think. No, really!

5. What book and/or magazine are you reading now?

Book - Truman. It's going to take a while to finish.

Magazine - Time, Boston, Health, Prevention, Sports Illustrated, Patriots Weekly, Engineering News-Record, Architectural Record.....

August - looking forward to resuming running, and resuming DD's school year schedule. She's not in school or preschool, but she goes to Mom's Morning Out and gymnastics each once a week.

Lunch restaurant - I don't do lunch very often outside of the home, as it's both expensive and filling. We usually do Chik-Fil-A for the kids. My preference would be Schlotsky's Deli or McAllister's Deli. Delis for me equal lunch!

Dinner restaurant - I'm happy with O'Charleys or some local restaurant with similar fare.

Surprise about me - I occasionally sleep with a stuffed animal! Even at this age I love 'em and keep a bunch on our headboard. My husband even finds them amusing and has his favorites among the pack. They all have names, BTW.

Book/magazine - I'm going through a few cookbooks.

1. What are you looking forward to about August?

Getting some moles removed so I will quit worrying about them. Also, school starts and ds will be busier. He loves to fish, but one can only do so much . . . Sports do not hold the same charm since his injury. I feel sorry for him as he was a very good athlete. Hopefully, it will heal with a year off from baseball, although I hate the thought of him playing football this year with his bad arm.

2. Where's your favorite restaurant to "do lunch?"

Fabulous Foods

3. Where's your favorite restaurant for dinner?

I can't remember the name of it, but it was an Italian restaurant in LA. Out here, Cafe' Barrons.

4. What's something people would be surprised to know about you?

I have a straight 'A' average in my college basic courses (but still have trouble using the good grammar - LOL!)

5. What book and/or magazine are you reading now?

"Kate Remembered"

You sound like me with magazines! I listed only the most current 2, but subscribe to way too many and pick up others. Just love them and catalogs.
