I'm freaked out!

Any of you ever experience an onslaught of spiders in your house? I've killed four of them today...two normal sized, two large..and I mean 3 inch large. Any idea why all of a sudden they're favoring our home? Ever think about them crawling on you at night while you sleep or is that just my particular phobia.

Anyway, I just took a shower, grabbed my towel that had been there since yesterday, and big spider jumped out at me. I screamed and killed it.

Any ideas?

Deb!!!I'm reading this just before bed and now I'll be thinking about spiders crawling all over me.No big spider problems here, probably the mice scare them away.I bought the guys a box of candy and put it in a closet and a mouse got in it!!Did you know mice like chocolate?Maybe the spiders came in to find that box of candy you had Eric hide.Hope that's all the spiders you come across.

Since I live out in the country, there are all sorts of creepy, crawley creatures around here. Luckily they stay outside most of the time. I spray around the house occasionally. On the outside but it helps keep spiders and crickets under control. I go to the Equity to get the stuff but I would imagine that there are places in town that you can buy the same basic stuff. Otherwise call an exterminator. They can spray around your house and take care of the problem.

We had a spider problem when we moved into our present home. Dh, being the nature lover hated when I killed them, he preferred to capture them in a dixie cup and set them free! We really couldn't figure out the problem until we removed two abrovite bushes from the front of the house. We still have spiders occasionally but not nearly as many as we used to.

We notice an onslaught of bugs (spiders, roaches - big ugh - and a few odd ones) when it's been really rainy outside. Or hot. Our guess is that the bugs are looking for dry and cool places too. Lately we've had a few more spiders, and it has been raining more, but Al and her friend have also been running in and out of the house more, too, sometimes leaving doors open. If the spider is relatively small (less noticable) and in a corner catching & eating gnats in their webs, I let 'em stay. If they're high-tailing it across the floor, I'll dispose of them.

Every 2-3 months, The Cus will go under and around the house with the current substitutes for Diazanon & Dursban - which of course, have been taken off the market by regulators who live in areas where they don't have bug as many bugs trying to come into their homes (or they have regular visits by pesticide companies that average people don't have the extra money for). That seems to help, especially on the bigger bugs.

We always have spiders in our house. All year round believe it or not. I don't mind the spiders so much as I do the flies and the ants. We get a horrible onslaught of flies every summer about this time. I'm bracing for it. I have no ideas for you except the exterminator. Or, like I do, let them catch the flies.

Phyllis--BEES!?!?!?! Good grief!!! That's the oddest infestation I think I've ever heard of.

Yuck Deb, not a nature lover here. But we are fortunate here. No major problems. My oldest son who is 6'2" is terrified of spiders and if he spots one he screams like a baby. Its hysterical, you should see it. I laugh so hard!

Went we lived in Florida many years ago we had a home on 2 acres and lots of wildlife. I could tell you stories that would bring tears to your eyes. Giant spiders, bull frogs in my toilet, snakes wrapped around front light posts, and armadillo digging up our front lawn. Gee maybe thats why hubby hated Florida.......lol!

Hope you get it under control. Maybe a call to an exterminator is not a bad idea, especially if they had a nest and it hatched. Good luck!

Stripes has no interest in mice....we always see them scamper in the garage. I had no idea they liked candy! Probably just good chocolate? Deb

That could be! The weather. It's been very hot here earlier in the week, I guess they need somewhere cool to hang out. Try the garage where creepy spiders are supposed to be!
