I guess I can start. I have found especially in this past week I have done better with my low carbs and higher protien by having several meals through out the day. I hate to call them "meals" but more snacks. By journaling things too I find I have made an effort to behave. My busier days when I do not eat my snacks I feel hungrier and have trouble controlling the urge to splurge. Having the proper "tools" in the house is so important too. I found this week I made JELLO. Not for the kids but for me. The sugar-free ones, and some Cool Whip Free for the top......yummy! Only 25 calories for that snack and no carbs. Welches Ice Pops are great too only 25 calories. A great summer treat. Also after my last shopping trip I took Chicken Cutlets, and rewrapped the breasts individually.
Well that was some of my ideas this week. Any one else find something that works well for them?

I know this sounds weird, but if I cook a bag of kale (in enough fat-free chicken broth & apple cider vinegar to steam it) and keep it in the frig. for when I get cravings for sweets, it really helps to curb them. I take out a bowl full and heat it in the microwave. It is one of the healthiest foods there is and has next to no calories or carbs.

Phyllis, I think it is great that you have cut out the sugar.I'm working at that but still have a ways to go.
This month I'm going to look at it as what I'm doing good for my body not what I'm giving up.

I always have the same thing for breakfast every morning (1/2 Cup Cottage Cheese, 1/4 cup grapes, 1/2 cup strawberries, and 1 kiwi) together with coffee, of course. For lunch and dinner I alternate around 2 or 3 options. Some people might find that boring but for standard M-F meals it cuts planning for meals down to a minimum.
Catherine.
If I have been careful with my choices, I can also add a little bit of table cream to them and when it freezes on them, it tastes a little bit like ice cream coating them.(Yummy).

I buy really nice berries. I wash them and dry them on paper towels. Then I spread them out on a paper-towel lined cookie sheet (with sides so they don't roll off LOL). Put them in the freezer for about 1/2 hour or so and then put them in containers to keep in the freezer. This way they don't freeze in a lump so that I can take out a small amount at a time.
Best thing.....I don't have rotten berries anymore....and they do taste great!!
