Why do we want to sleep in on the days we have to work and can't sleep in on the days we have off. After rolling around for 45 minutes, I decided to give in and get up.

Johnny is still on leave today so I wrangled him in to going on a hike with me. This one is a new one that I haven't been on. I believe the trail book that I have said 14 miles but I don't think its a tough one other than the mileage.

I have a couple of 15 minute projects to do today but I think getting out "the list" for vacation and seeing if there is anything we need to get or get done before we go. Johnny is leaving to go fishing in a tournament on Friday so I'm keeping him busy while I can. I also have a chapter in "The Purpose Driven Life" that I need to finish before study tonight.

What's on your plate today?

Make it a great day!

It's overcast and cooler here today. We could really use some rain, but there's only a 30% chance. So, I will stay inside and do house stuff today.

Cardio and weights for me this morning.

15 minute project...I have a bunch. I want to do some really good clean up in the kitchen. Sew the lining into my felted bags. Sew up my bathing suit. Cut out some flannelette pj's for my boys and sew some buttons on a summertime sweater I made.

Have a great day everyone.

Donna, your bedroom suite sounds wonderful. Will you be able to post any pics after it arrives?

Well, you know me and posting pics. Not exactly timely at it. But I'll try.

Maybe during down time I'll surf the web and see if pics of any of the pieces are on the store's website. Believe me, the areas for the room setups at the store are almost bigger than our bedroom!

This feels like early Christmas!

My trip to the doctor revealed what I thought were moles on my back are seborrheic keratosis. However, I do have a mole near my wrist that my doc said is a time bomb. So I have to have surgery to have it removed - no slicing, we're talking cutting it out. Boo hoo! Anyway, the keratosis are harmless according to him, although I've read that moles can lay hidden under keratosis. I will have them removed around Jan. or Feb. (as that is the best time per the doc) and since insurance doesn't cover it, his office gives a great deal on removing them (i.e. 10 for $130.). Can't beat the price. I hate the things & he said they are age spots most likely resulting from overexposure to the sun in my childhood years. He said I would get many more - thanks, Doc! I hate it, but I will have to schedule the mole surgery very soon.

My plate has been overly full lately. Headaches have abounded, too. I woke up with one & turned alarm off only to wake up with just enough time to shower & dress. I have two nights off from work, but tonight I have to take ds to pick up his jr. high classes schedule and may have to run errands for our annual political action group fundraiser, which takes place tomorrow night. Our auction theme is Western so this year's outfit is easy: it's jeans, cowboy boots and a Lone Star t-shirt in red, white & blue. We're decorating a nice club downtown in the Lone Star theme with bluebonnets and sunflowers. Of course, the food will be bar-be-cue and there will be wine, so I won't be eating low-cal. I'm exhausted now, after writing about my nights off!

Have a great day, everyone!

Busy morning. We left at 8:00 to visit UMass-Lowell with Amanda and tour the campus. She's seriously considering it, so the trip was worthwhile. Because of that, I didn't get in my morning workout, so I hope to visit Curves later this afternoon and then get back onto my morning schedule tomorrow. 15-minute project? Hmmmmmm Doesn't the visit this morning count? No, really. I plan to attack the pile of filing next to my desk, most of which is so old, I'll probably be using the circular file for most of it. Does my heart good to toss stuff! Thanks for all your replies to my questions about Curves and exercise results. I'll just keep working at it. Have a good one ladies. :-)

Bu**er. Went up to the reservoir and it was CLOSED. Closed for repairs or something. So, no hike and riding on a long road that took forever since you could only drive about 10 miles an hour with the road so rough...grrrr!

I love Kathy Smith. She's a great place to start.

I signed up for the LWTLW challenge this summer. It's on week 4. I think you'll like her attitude - more about lifestyle changes, than about "a diet". Maybe I'll see you over there!

Hey, Phyllis!

I got up at 4 a.m. to work my Chest/Back .. a great workout!

I am trying to reteach myself to pace myself and slow down. Every few months, I get worked up, rushed, and tense. I want to "do everything" at one time. OF course, I can't! Plus, I got all ticked off at work yesterday (including falling on my knee), so I made it a point to "breathe" and stop race walking.

My fifteen minutes? I did something totally soothing .. I got off early and went to get my nails done .... aaaahhhh!

I am going to slow down today!
