Good morning-

Hope everyone has had a good week so far. After getting on the scales this morning...its really been a great week :-) Cutting out those starchy carbs has been great!

1. What are you thankful for?

***My Bible study group. We're going through The Purpose Driven Life book and its really been a blessing.

2. 15 minute project?

***I think I'm going to leave a little early on vacation. DH is going to a tournament and I'll have to wait around until Tuesday for him to go so, I'm going to get everything done around (bills that will be due while we're gone) here so I can leave early Sunday morning.

3. Workout?

***I've been kind of slack in this area this week. I'm more in the mood for a nice, long walk or yoga than a hard, pounding workout.

Hope your day is filled with blessings!

Phyllis, great job with your eating and seeing those scales move!!!I read your post where you said you had cut out sugar. Was going to post a "how did you do it" post. But I guess you just do it.

Not real sure what's on for a workout today. Weights are already done(yay!!).Probably a run and maybe a short slide.Today's Dads birthday and my sisters and I are going up for lunch with Mom and Dad.Looking forward to that.7 more days and I'll be chicken free!!!!

Thankful for the beautiful days we've been having and the rain.Wish I could share some rain with Nancy.

15 min project, maybe that should be my slide workout.

Have a fantastic day everyone!!

Good job Phyllis!! It's so encouraging when the scale moves, isn't it?

I am on my way to work in town today. After work, I'll run errands and then come home and do a little cardio for warm up and then lift weights. I've been pretty negligent in the weight department lately.

My 'thankful' for the day. We've had a harvest without any major equipment breakdowns so far. I'm thankful for that. And we're down to about two days of wheat harvest left. It will be good to have that done.

My 15 minute project? Clean a bathroom drawer.

Good for you Phyllis! I like your plan of leaving early for vacation.

1. Today I am most thankful for good friends both on and offline.

2. 15 minute project: I have no idea. My mind is blank at the moment. Maybe I'll spend my 15 minutes trying to decide whether to go to Tanny's funeral or not. It's on Saturday afternoon.

3. Today, I plan to go to a step class after work. After my almost meditative walk last night, a good, hard workout sounds good to me.

Have a goo day.

Sharing a blessing, though I'm thankful for it: My DD is filling out a "scrapbook", and she's spelling and writing simple words in it as I'm typing here. "Box" "On" "Off" - she's not yet five, and doing this. I read earlier than my classmates, but not this early, and I sure wasn't spelling.

15 minute project: wrap a birthday gift and print out a birthday card.

Workout: Didn't work out yesterday, but I was still sore from Monday's workout! Ran this morning (25 minutes - walked in between, still leary of the strained muscles I had), will get abs and UB in later today.

We got playgroup today; we'll be leaving early because we have a birthday pool party to go to. Tidied up the house yesterday, but never quite got around to vacuuming. What the heck did I do yesterday, anyway?!

Good morning ladies. Not a good start for me again. Once again I awoke with yet another sinus headache. These things just wear me down and upset my stomach so! Today I am so very thankful for my meds! I don't know what I'd do without my sinus meds and my Maxalt! My 15 minute project today will be to help dd and dh pack the vehicles with all of dd's stuff for the big move tomorrow. Last night dd and I powerwalked for 6 miles. That felt wonderful! Today I will do weights, squats, lunges, abs, and yoga. Have a great day everyone!

Good Morning to everyone

Phyllis, great job on that downward movement on that scale!

No workout yet today but will see how the day & the weather goes to make a decision on what to do this evening. Let you know later. I've already been a busy bee this morning. Packed myself a great looking salad for lunch instead of ordering something at work since I will be working through lunch as I will be leaving work early to go for the echocardiogram. Cooked up some chicken and put together a Chicken Sesame Pasta salad for dinner. That way there will be no cooking tonight except maybe to stir fry some fresh zucchini from the garden.

I'm very thankful today for a very supportive husband over these past few weeks.

Thankful for the neighborhood children and the strangers that stopped the other day and asked if I needed any help when I was stuck with my car the other day.

A big thanks to the person who stopped at the intersection by my house last night so I could make the mad dash across the street from my house because I needed to make a mad dash into the house to use the "facilities"-water pills and drinking lots of water will do that to you!

Hoping that everyone has a great day!

Good morning!

Workout tonight is 45 min of cardio. We need to make a return trip to the furniture store. DH and I have to reorder the new bed and box spring. We had measured and thought a queen bed would make it into our small room, but naturally forgot to take into consideration the depth of the headboard and footboard. Sheesh, details!! It will be way too long; all the furniture will fit in the room, but he and I wouldn't be able to walk around between one of the dressers and the end of the bed (can't imagine why we'd want to do that!). So we're going back to full size, and we're going to order the second nightstand after all.

Thankful for: the usual things, what we never say we're thankful for and regret not saying it later. And Fridays!

Feeling slightly silly, but wishing you all a great day anyway....

I did my workout today - LB weights.

I do plie' squats (dance plie's, I've heard them called)

squats - i'm doing 3 sets at 16 Kg (that's, um, about 35 pounds)

calfraises - 2 sets with 2 4Kg DBs

and just added step-ups - step on a bench that's about high enough to make your thigh almost horizontal when your leading foot is flat on the bench, then use just the muscles in the leading leg to raise yourself up so you can bring the other foot onto the bench. It's *HARD*. I like 'em.

Then I did my abs.

And I added a new abs exercise - lie on the bench on my back, grab the uprights for support, put legs straight out at about 45 degrees, and *hold* them there. I managed 8 reps of 4 seconds each with both legs, then did 4 singleleg holds. Wow - did I feel it!

Thankful that Alex is so supportive of my exercise. He all of a sudden got this idea last night about 10pm that we should go for a drive in the hills and then go get gelato. So we did. (I had chocolate and lemon. yum.) We had the following conversation in the car:

Me: Would you be okay with me disappearing for an hour or so in the mornings sometimes for a bike ride.

He looked confused - "well, that's *exercise* right? "

Me: Yeah

Him: Well why would I have a problem with you exercising so you're even yummier?

Me: Um. I didn't say you would, just that I always felt like I had to "steal" time to exercise when I was with Dan.

Him: Well, okay - I suppose if you got excessive about it - would 10 hours a week be a reasonable amount of time to set aside?

Me: hmmm -that's an hour a day plus 3 extra for when I want extra time biking or walking or whatever - yeah, that'd work.

God I love this guy!

Um - 15 minute project - um, put away the laundry I was supposed to do two days ago... Ooops.

Funny happened today, was eating breakfast (soy sausage) and something dropped. Figured my legs would catch it...great food catchers. But I now have a neat "in" curve on my inner thighs---hey kids, all this stuff is working LOL..the little bit of sausage fell right through. Cracked me up!

I'm thankful that my dear friends in San Jose are putting my entire family up at their lovely new home, that I get to see McKenna (FINALLY), and that I have the guts to go to this reunion without my close circle of gf's. Growth moment for me!!!

2. 15 minute project?

***Finish packing and leave for vacation!

3. Workout?

***walk to plane, walk off..lol

Congratulations on the good results of your commitment, Phyllis. You're so good!

1. Thankful that I have loose jeans this a.m.! I was sweating putting my size 7 silver tabs on (hardly ever wear them as they are straight legged and I mainly wear my hip hugger flares) & they are looser than before. Not loose enough to induce me to try a smaller size, but it's nice to know that I haven't gained any inches at least. I may venture on the scales next week after AF leaves. She likes to park herself at my place for over a week. She should be totally p.o.'d with me as I only feed her baked chips and a few dark chocolates when she gets to whining.

I'm also thankful for my bible studies I have that are made possible thru my wonderful study Bibles and devotional materials. Studying by myself isn't as much fun as with my Sunday School class, but I have great materials. Looking forward to SS this Sunday!

Also, last but not least - I am thankful for the many blessings God has bestowed. I was able to buy ds school clothes and shoes. He's all set! Now if those teachers would just reveal the school supplies (nothing like last minute instructions!).

2. 15 min. project - go to the bank

3. Workout - I'm afraid I slept late this a.m. - I seem to have an infection on the surface of my eyes. Boy, do I look funny when I first wake up! Anyway, I made sure I used different eye makeup remover & bought new eyeshadows & applicators. Also, wanted to get a full 8 hrs. of sleep in last night. Maybe I will be able to get my cardio in tomorrow a.m. Have an auction to attend tonight, so no time tonight.

Have a thrilling Thursday, everyone!
