Hi everyone,

As you know our province is experiencing some really bad wild fires at the moment. Over 30 new ones in the last two days and no let up in sight. No rain and lots more thunderstorms on the way. I spoke with my ds last weekend and when he was at fire practice, the chief was asking for volunteers. My son just called this morning to let me know that he has taken some time off work and will be heading out tomorrow night after work to help battle one of the biggest blazes just north of Kamloops. I'm very proud of him, but also apprehensive.

Ladies, I would be very grateful if you could remember my son, Matt in your prayers along with all of the other brave souls out there fighting this!

Thanks,

Shar

Prayers going Matt's way, Shar. What an unselfish thing for him to do, for firefighters to do what they do for us always. Wishing him a safe return...

Shar, will sure remember Matt in my prayers! Since 9/11, I am so much more aware and have such respect and gratitude for what firefighters and policemen are often called to do. Also, we had the support of the local firefighters for the mayoral candidate I just worked for, and I have never seen such committed, loyal, tirelessly hard workers in my life!! They'd make awesome friends and fearsome enemies.

Florida went through a horrible firestorm several years ago when a large area of the state burned for over a month. We had help from all over the nation. When I drive down I-95, I still see the charred remains of some of the trees even though the forests are regenerating themselves. Mother nature can be really vicious!

Our thoughts and prayers go out for Matt and you and your family. As a mother, I know it has to be very stressful for you.

Hugs,

Rhonda

Shar,

Thoughts and prayers for Matt and all the other firefighters involved. I hope that they can get these under control soon and some rain heads your way. I'm sure you must be very proud of him but very nervous at the same time. So saying a prayer for you too!

You must be very proud of him. And, understandably worried. He'll be in my thoughts. That work takes a lot of courage.

Hi Shar,

Our prayers and thoughts are with you and your family and especially your son Matt and all the others out with him.

You must be so proud of him. Remember that he is doing what he has chosen to do with his life and that he is in his element.

That said, may G-d be with him and may the fires be put out quickly.

Sure wish I could send some of our rain your way! These daily afternoon torrential downpours (2 today!) are saturating everything. My driveway, sidewalk, and American flag have green stuff growing on them!

He is in my prayers. Please keep us posted on how things are going up there. I wish I could send you some of our rain. It has been raining on and off everyday this week and next week in so not looking any better. Again he is in my thoughts and prayers as are all the men and women trying there best to help.

Of course I'll pray for Matt. I kind of know how you feel, my dad was a volunteer firefighter in our small town in Montana, and he got to see a little action over the years.
