to visit. She's arriving today at 3:44 by train. She went to Switzerland with her mother and now she's coming here! Hooray! She's staying about 5 days. Which'll be great cuz Alex is leaving tomorrow for 7 days, and she'll be here to keep me company. She's my friend that I used to go take long walks with back home. We're planning some long walks and bikerides and such.

I've been cleaning all morning. ;-) Don't want her to think I'm a total slob...

Have a nice visit with your friend. Maybe you can introduce her to those exotic food creatures from the sea that you wrote about yesterday.

I reread your post about strange creatures posing as food. I have to laugh - I'm not sure I want to bother with cleaning my own shrimp, especially once they've been cooked, but I love those chewy, tentacly, suction-cuppy things. I eat calamari about once a week (now that I know I can safely) and wouldn't have too much trouble with octopus if it were served at any of the places I go to. I can thank my mom's mother for this; she insisted that all the grandchildren try everything at least once before we declared our undying hatred for it. I can honestly say there are few things that she introduced us to that I dislike, sweetbreads being up there in No. 1 spot. Ick-yyyy.
