No real ideas here.I would really like to get a set routine for exercise that I stick with.I'm also thinking I would like to get serious abut a weight workout.Something that will really change my body.I've pretty much accepted that food will always be a challenge for me.Food and cabana boys are the only two vices I have left ;)
I'm thinking about setting a goal of getting into a certain pair of jeans by my birthday. But I think I want a more meaningful goal than that.I'm even giving some thought to turning 40 this year.
I know that I want to get more heavily into T-Tapp. I'm convinced Teresa is onto something with the changes she's made to basic exercises, combining the best of several types of workouts, and her approach to keeping the lympathic system drained. She really has a total approach to health -- nutrition, body brushing, etc. I'm also learning more about a more scientific approach to nutrition concerning acid/alkaline foods and which leave the least acidic wastes to cause acidosis. I know, that's probably boring to a lot of people, but I'm into it.
Teresa hasn't lifted a weight in 24 years and has arms/shoulders (whole body) to die for!! You'd think she spent hours in the gym, but she uses her body as its resistance. And, like Pilates, it doesn't take a lot of reps.
My big challenge is just doing it. If I can get into it enough to make it second nature, I will have won my biggest battle (other than sweets).
I think the way we had the chart and accountability for eating, exercise, water, etc., last year was good.
Could somebody explain how this point system challenge works? Several of us weren't here last year and have no earthly idea of what the rest of you are talking about.
I hope it's *not* competing against one another - if so, count me out. That's why I never enjoyed phys-ed. Even if it's just adding points to a pot, I'm not wild about it. Some of our members are fortunate to do fitness for a living or have several hours a day to devote to it... and then there's the rest of us who squeeze in an hour when we can, and just like the mileage challenges we can't pull in as much as we'd like. I find it deflating rather than supportive, and I come here for support *and fun* - not to add more lists to my day with a scorecard and to feel inadequate about what I could be doing if I put even more time into it.
I liked the charts we used last year...if I can remember which file I left it in...LoL. I also liked how we combined our miles as a group. To me, it doesn't matter who contributes the most miles, just that we all try to do our best and maybe even inch up our personal best a notch. I'm not behind a competition of any type except against myself.
So, should we make our goals individual and encourage each other that way or do we want a single challenge for everyone to work on? I can go either way with this one.
I think of it as a challenge to ourselves. It sometimes helps to be accountable to a person or group (The WW's principle) to keep us on track. We report how we do, but that's not a necessity, I guess. We realize that everyone has different demands and time to devote to fitness, so naturally, a person in the fitness profession or "domestic engineer" is going to have more time than a person who is working one or more traditional jobs and has children. Most of us fit someone in between. It's also strictly on a volunteer basis for the fun of it to help ward off those holiday weight gains.

Any ideas fron you , Rhonda?

And when do we start? Let's go already!
