My Cousin Barbara

I hope this doesn't sound weird, but my cousin passed on last night and God answered my prayers. We were able to see her, visit her, I gave her "loves", kissed her, and all though she couldn't speak--I know she knew us. Her sister Carol has been such an incredible sister and cousin, daughter, everything. Barbara has been in the nursing facility for so many years, and Carol visited her every day (she's a very busy attorney). She is the one that arranged for everything.

I just know Barbara is now in a beautiful place and finally at peace.

So sorry for your loss, but yes, it is a relief for you and the family to know that Barbara at peace, now. What a wonderful lady your cousin, Carol, is to take care of Barbara so.

Prayers and thoughts go out to you and your family, Deb.

Deb, I'm sorry to hear about your cousin, and yet, sometimes there just comes a time when maybe it is the best thing. I saw that with my brother-in-law. I'm so glad you got to spend time with her and let her know how you felt about her. I feel certain she understood. The hospice people assured us that John could, and I noticed one time when he first was in the dying process (different from just a coma) and couldn't respond, he made a valiant effort to nod when I told him goodbye and that I'd come see him again. You can feel good that you made some of her final days so pleasant and let her know how loved she was.

Hugs,

Rhonda

I thought about you and your sister (and John) when visiting Barbara. I would be devastated if I had to go through with Eric what happened to John. But after seeing Barbara and knowing what she had gone through for the last years of her life--it truly is a blessing that God had brought her back home.
