Hi,

I have ten pounds I urgently need to lose. I want to use Results by Dexatrim just to get a jump start. I am taking Prozac though for my perimenopause symptoms and wondered if I should take Dexatrim with this?? Anyone know the answer to this question? Thanks. K.

What ingredients does Dexatrim have in it? I don't know if I'd take it regardless of what medication you're on. Anti-depressants have been shown to cause weight gain. However, for a short term, quick weight loss the Atkins Diet is very effective. I wouldn't recommend staying on it, because it is hard on your kidneys and depletes calcium from your bones over the long term. You should drink plenty of water while on it and take a potassium supplement. When you go off it, you'll have to ease back into carbs or all the weight will come right back on (the same with liquid diets and other quick fixes).

Under no circumstances should you mix over the counter 'weight loss' pills with anti-depressants of any kind. I take Zoloft and my doctor said absolutely no diet pills. If you look on the side of the diet pill bottle, you'll see that the diet pill can have side effects similar to the things that your Prozac is supposed to get rid of.

My advice...call your doctor.
