TGIF aftn check in....

For those of you in the NE, how are things going now? Has anyone heard an explanation of what is going on? I've been running around today and this is my first chance to check-in.

Our Jazzercise class went well. First week of new routines so the body is challenged in new ways (read:sore!). I then went to the one hour hip hop class for teens and stayed in the grandma section :o). The stretches are unbelievable and my flexibility can still be improved. The routine itself was such a hoot. It's just SO MUCH FUN! :o). I love dance. Our instructor is going to be teaching "Street Jam" at one of the large Jazzercise conventions next year, so we'll get the routine in class that she makes up. This woman can move too. Like watching a music video.

Ok---I know I know..I need to use my time wisely, and can't use it for fun. MUST clean house. Or at least something showy for Eric--like our bathroom :o) Was up til 2am reading and up at 630...so I'm a bit zonkers this aftn.

I've eaten crapola today--but not much at least. Nothing sounds good, I'm not sick === but nothing is appealing. So I had a cookie! A big one.

Maybe a nap is order :o)

Okay first I ran 2 1/2 miles on the treadmill, did a few UB weights, showered, washed a couple loads of laundry, prepared some cukes and dip for dd and dh when they came home for lunch. After lunch decided to head on outdoors, sit in my chaise lounger and relax in the shade with a book. Well, I read a page, looked around, read a page, looked around, and did this for about 15 minutes and couldn't stand it any longer! The back yard was a mess and I couldn't relax in it so got up and proceeded to pull weeds, and pull weeds, and pull weeds. Then I swept it all up and straigtened everything out. Then decided to try myself out at the relaxing thing again....no such luck! By this time I was too sweaty and hot and yearned for the AC and a small bowl of ice cream. So guess what? Yup, the ice cream won! Yum yum yum!! Tonite dh and I are alone so will be going out to eat...maybe Mexican. Then maybe sit by the bonfire and enjoy a nice quiet evening together with a nice cold beer. Have a great night ladies!

I remember Tastee Freeze from when I was a little kid. We don't have them down here.

I made good progress on my stacks of papers and magazines. What a relief! When those build up, it just zaps my energy like a cloudy day.

I'm eager to start on the redesign of the Republican Women's Club newsletter. Went through some of our old ones and one from a neighboring club -- bo-rr-iing!! I want to take the best of both plus and put them in a better format to get our members'(and prospective new members') attention.

Eating's been OK, but I haven't done my workout yet. Need to practice fixing my new do. I put too much mousse in it last night, and it's too poufy. I had to stick it behind my ears!

I didn't post this morning but will tell you what I did anyway. I had today off from working in town. We grow sweet corn and sell to a grocery store. This morning we were out in the corn patch by 7am picking corn. Picked till 10:30 and I was picking and carrying buckets of corn all of that time. I got hot, sweaty and tired and by the time we finished (dh and I), my arms ached and my legs were tired. I then cleaned up quickly, ran the corn to town and came home. After lunch, I took a half hour power nap.

I've been doing computer stuff since then. Now I need to clean up again because dh and I are going out to eat with some friends. Beer for me tonight gals. I've been a really good gal for three days with my eating and exercise. I've even planned for a beer for tonight.

Exercise-walking Otto this evening, poor thing was sitting at the top of the basement stairs looking down at me and I just couldn't tell him no just really don't like these late evening walks with all those biting bugs out there tonight!; good eating so-so; relaxation WONDERFUL! Sat myself in a chair with my ice coffee/and lots of glasses of water & a little fan and read all afternoon. Went to the supermarket after dinner definitely not worth the trip. They lost the contents of the entire meat department, deli counter, seafood, dairy and 3/4 frozen food plus several refrigeration units. The mop up was in progress and the shelves were pretty empty. The good thing I couldn't buy any more ice cream for the freezer! Did stock up on some fruits and vegetables and a few non essentials but another trip will definetly be in order this week. Still many areas without power. My inlaws power in the section of the city where they live wasn't restored until 3:15 this afternoon. We were hoping that everything was OK with them since we hadn't been able to reach them by phone either but they're OK.

Tweety and Nancy-if I had a cold beer in my fridge right now-I would join you!

So I left work early and just finished my workout about a half-hour ago - no, it wasn't 5 hours long, I just goofed off really well when I got home and didn't head to the dungeon until around 7:15 after chatting on the phone forever (I hate the phone - I haven't stayed on that long in years). And poor DH has been waiting patiently for dinner since then. So it's cooking as we speak - healthy fish, broccoli, and potatoes (for him only). I think this dinner is even later than the Europeans eat, but hunger calls....

Dateline had a long story about the power outage tonight. It's odd that they still don't know what caused it. I was so pleased that there were no riots or looting. I think maybe people look at things like this a little differently than they did prior to 9/11. Dateline also had about 4 minutes on the South Beach Diet.
