Sharon---lucky you to be able to do a 5 miler right by San Francisco bay. I love that city! We're going back to vacation there in January, and if I can come up with another excuse before then (Eric---business meeting, yea!)..I'm there. It's such a fabulous walking town.

Rhonda---I didn't see the People Fall Issue--have to check it out. The mags I was looking at were Vogue and Harper's--the colors that caught my eye were these beautiful satin jewel tones. Which of course with my sweating issues I can't wear! I am looking for a blood red gown for an event in December--so I will have a few months of fun shopping around for it. If not red, something in beautiful color (no black!).

Everyone---how is your Sunday going? Anna, did you rest and read your book? Eric decided to work from home, and we thought we'd get an early dinner at The Beach House before Sex in the City at 6pm :o). No dinner reservation openings til 645pm so if we keep that reservation we'll have to wait til 9pm (stay awake LOL) for Sex in the City.

We took a 1.5 hour walk around the harbor and surrounding area--great day for it. Leisurely pace, definitely not a power walk. I'm cleaning one of the bathrooms while Eric works downstairs, then like the others who posted---it's a nice afternoon to grab a book, read (and nap).

For food...I have some soy sausage patties, bite of a cookie, part of See's candy "seegar" and that's about it so far. I'm in a bitchy bitchy mood and food isn't appealing today. Normally I love big food (breakfasts, etc) on Sundays.

SNAP outofit Deb will be my motto today. It's not PMS...just hormones at play I'm sure.

Weather here was really funny today-one minute it looked like the heavens were about to open the next the sun was shining brightly. I've been real lazy today, enjoyed a manicure, some reading time and DH and I decided to venture down to the beach to walk the boardwalk. He had never been down to this particular beach. It's really nice with two walking paths and a bike lane down the middle. The boardwalk is 4 miles round trip. No power walking for me either, just a nice relaxing walk. We would stop every so often and sit on one of the benches and take in a Beach volleyball game and the surfers but not many good waves today. And I enjoyed every lick of a delicious soft serve vanilla ice cream cone while sitting enjoying the sound and smell of the ocean.

Sounds like a lot of us enjoyed some nice walks and some good books!

The "People" issue is a special one for fall style in addition to their usual weekly issues. It wasn't all that great, but I'm a sucker for their stuff. I don't subscribe to any fashion type magazines any more, so if I get them, it's just an issue or two here and there. I see what fashions are in "more," "Self," and others like them. One good thing is there are lots of beautiful evening shoes, so you shouldn't have a hard time there.

If you can't find a red gown maybe a deep Christmasy green would work. I've always thought that was such a pretty color. I think it was Julianne Moore who wore one to one of the award shows this year.

Have you noticed how extreme the high heels are now? The toes are either roach killers (pointy), duck bills (square), or super round. They will be dated in 6 months probably. And, the heels are hooker high, Queen Anne, or some other bizarre shape. I've made up my mind I'm not investing in that kind of stuff any more. I've been looking for a really nice pair of classic style pumps or strappy heels in camel or taupe to go with a couple of suits, and it appears to be Mission Impossible!

Oh, the joys of fashion! LOL!

I had a great day! I just finished my 3 mile run/walk and am heading to the weights. Didn't get alot of cleaning done today (did manage to clean the kitchen & I mean floors and all!), but that's okay as it was a wonderful fellowship day at church. Went to SS and then worship service. Afterwards, we had a fellowship luncheon. I just love the people in my SS class! Wish I could do more with them. The church is getting ready for "40 Days of Purpose" & I will need to buy that book. It sounds very promising. I didn't realize how large that church is - 1600 people!

Well, back to the weights room. Afterwards, I have 2 books to scan, "Simple Steps - 10 Weeks to Getting Control of Your Life" and "Organizing From the Inside Out". Speaking of books, I've been reading that book you posted about, Deb. It is so funny! I think it's called "I Don't Know How She Does It" by the British author.

Hope all had a serene Sunday.

Interesting that your church is doing 40 days of The Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren. Our church will be starting the same program in September. I'd be interested to know what you think of it.

I got an ad for one from Rodale books called "Cut the Clutter and Stow the Stuff" that sounds very tempting, if for no other reason than it says it can show you how to create twice as much space for shoes with a do-it-yourself project that takes less than 30 minutes! LOL! I SO need to get rid of clutter and get better organized. I feel as though I'm drowning in "stuff!"

I don't know how you do it all, Kat!!

Thanks, Shayna! Believe it or not, I went to save it to My Favorites, and it was already there! I'd totally forgotten about it. Even My Favorites is overflowing. LOL!
