I am working in town today. Will come home and do some sort of cardio tonight. If it's still in the hundreds, I'll use the treadmill...if cooler, I'll walk outside. The temps here have been hot, hot, hot. 106 degrees was the high yesterday. The town nearby here broke records for heat. And the wind has been blowing for days. Just sucking all of the moisture right out of the ground. We're sure praying for a rain! Anyone want to help us out and pray for a nice rain for us, too? We'd appreciate it.
Need to get moving or I'll be late for work and that isn't a great habit to get into. Patty, enjoy your chickenless day.

Can you believe it, my DS doesn't drink coffee. Luckily he has a coffee maker, and even a coffee grinder. I bought some Starbucks coffee last night. So now that the coffee's made I'm scrounging around to find the milk and sugar to put in my coffee. I haven't found the sugar bowl yet. I'm not even sure that he has a sugar bowl. Oh no!!!
Now don't go thinking that my DS hasn't got stuff, cuz he's got lots of stuff. But he hasn't got the essentials for a coffee affectionado.
I'll see about taking a walk with my DGD later today and strap on my heart monitor just to make sure that I'm getting a good cardio workout. Somehow I don't think there'll be any doubt of that, running around after a 5 y/o.
Have a Happy Monday everyone!
Catherine.
My yard looks good but I water it all the time. Here in this part of South Dakota, you have to water if you want a decent looking yard.
Good luck tackling the heat. How did the trip to Rochester go yesteray? Is DD all settled in? Our kids start school soon, too. DD is on her last week of her summer job. She'll take the next week off and then start school right after Labor Day. DS begins classes again about that time, too. We won't have anyone to help move this year. They both are 'in place' already. That is a switch. We still have our stock trailer from when we had livestock....haven't had animals in years but we haven't sold the trailer because it holds a lot of furniture when you are moving kids around. LOL....

Tonight is long walk night. Going to strap on the ol' walkman and hit the trail.
I can't think of a 15 minute project right now. My brain is still on sunday time I think.
Patty the Chicken Princess is chicken free! Yippee!

We had a great week at the beach. Good weather. Lots of down time. Lots of beach time. I am very (unhealthily) tanned. I put on 5 pounds...which will come right back off so I am not sweating it (well, I will be sweating it, to get it off!).
This morning I am getting my computer fix (no computer for an entire week really was tuff! I thought about you ladies every day.) DH just left for work. Mumbling and grumbling about having to wear a shirt with a collar, long pants and a noose around his neck. We partied at Wolf Trap Farms last night listening to Huey Lewis and the News. I am sorry girls, I know it dates me, but I love them! The place was rocking. We had a great time, even though we'd been up since 5 a.m. to head back from vacation. Got home around midnight. I think I'm doing pretty well this morning. Anyhoo, I'm suckig down a cup of Joe (nothing like your own coffee maker...I feel your pain, Catherine!). Then I'm changing into my workout clothes and heading out for a rocking power walk to the lake and back. Then a workout of sit-ups and upper body. Then I suppose I will have to go into the office. Grumble. But I'm not wearing a shirt with a collar or long pants or a tie!
15 minute project...not sure. The house is a wreck. I know...MY 15 minute project will be to pull together all the projects for the DARLINGS to do while I'm at work today!
Missed ya!
Sassy.
And a marvelous Monday morning it is here! The sun is shining, bright blue skies and the humidity has dropped. I got up and walked this morning and it feels great not to be rushing out the door to go to work! Not sure what our plans will be for the day but we will definitely be going somewhere on such a gorgous day! No 15 minute projects here!
Catherine, I hope that you have found the milk and sugar! I was planning for major withdrawal when we had lost our power and figuring out to face a day without my morning wakeup!
Nancy & Tweety hope you get some rain in your part of the country. We seemed to have drowned in it this summer.
Hoping everyone has a Marvelous Monday!
Susan
Same nice weather here as on Long Island - finally a break in the heat and humidity. And it's actually going to continue for several consecutive days. Nancy and Tweety - I hope you get some of the same soon, with a little rain to keep things green and growing.
Big workout tonight, plus I'm going to try to talk DH into a walk after work, but he has a home fixup project to do involving concrete that would be perfect to do in this cooler weather so he may want to tackle that while I go wanderin'.
Welcome back from vacation, Sassy!
And everyone - have a wonderful day!
Donna
No 15-min project today. Tomorrow on the way home, we'll detour to Charlotte to get a move on getting a new car. A friend of DH's has a neighbor who's the regional manager for Subaru, and he's gotten us in on a VIP program. We should be able to purchase a Subaru for $300 over dealer invoice. It's just a matter of figuring out the details and finding the car we want. It'll probably have to be ordered, since not too many dealerships of any brand stock cars with manual transmissions.

It's going to be another hot day here in Texas. We have an expected high of 102 today and a orange ozone day. I'm doing my best to stay inside today.
DD is coming over tonight and we will head to the Y together. This is the first time we have gone to the Y together in over a month. I really looking forward to the time together.
Nothing very exciting going on but that sounds good to me!
Have a great Monday.....Margie :)
