A woman has set up a table in her yard and posted signs thru out her neighborhood/town.What's she doing??She's looking for a man to marry her 22 yr old daughter!!!Those who answer to the signs she interviews at the table in her yard. What do you all think of this?I think 22 is way too young to be going thru things like this. She has plenty of time to find Mr. Right or Mr. Close Enough.Plus isn't there something to be said for dating and even getting your heart bruised/broken along the way.Doesn't it make you appreciate the right guy even more?

If your Mom would have done this , would she have chosen your DH as the one?My family never would have picked Rick for me.They thought he was way too quiet for me.LOL

Arranged marriages ... I guess you have to be in the right culture for them to work.

I can't believe a 22-yr. old woman would allow her mother to do such a thing!! I was 22 the first time I got married. At the time, it seemed right, and I was married for 15 years after dating him for 5. There's no guarantee regardless of how long you date or how old you are. Everyone changes over time, sometimes together, sometimes farther apart.

No, I don't think I'd have wanted my mom to choose a husband for me. He'd have been a good provider, but he'd probably like to do the kind of things she did (and wanted me to) instead of the kinds of things I like to do. I know she'd have had my best interest at heart, but it would have been hard for her to put her feelings aside.

Oh, and what kind of guy would go for that? I guess someone who appears on reality shows. LOL! I'm pretty sure I wouldn't go for someone who wanted to marry me sight unsee and without knowing me. Scary!!

I'll take the old fashioned route.

If my mom had done that, I'd've moved to another part of the country and never spoken to her again. How *RUDE*!

Yeah, it's sort of like announcing my daughter MUST have a man and CAN'T get one on her own. LOL!
