Do you have any stores in your area that resell used equipment?Or do you know anyone who has one they don't use and would like to get rid of?I bought mine off a man who barely used his.He delivered it and it was already put together. The only thing I wish I had done differently was to get one with an auto incline. That's one thing I would look for in a new one.

You might also check out www.goodsanddeeds.com. They have good prices on all kinds of exercise eqp., and part of their proceeds goes to charity. I wonder if Goodwill, Salvation Army, Vietnam Vets., or other outlets like that may have what you're looking for.

Thanks for your input, Patty & Rhonda. I'm kind of leery of used machinery after buying a washer that is so noisy it drives both ds & me crazy (although it's still going strong! LOL!) and my coworker bought a used treadmill & she said it is a dud (noisy & erratic on speed). It's nice that you got a good deal on a used one, Patty, but I guess I don't trust myself to be that discerning. I saw one at Walmart for $399 & it uses iFIT technology. It is supposed to be ok for jogging but only has a 2.0 hp motor. I wonder . . . I may have to spend $100 more though for a 2.5 hp. I really don't see the need for a deluxe one, unless these low cost things don't hold up. Although, with ds around . . . Good thing about Walmart is that they have my favorite shopping word: LAYAWAY! I guess I'll check it out on Epinions to get some feedback. Also, thanks Rhonda for the tip on the internet site - I'll look there, too.
