Hey there I made it. None the worse for the wear. I was picked as an alternate. I have to go back on Sept 16 to hear the case. They said it should not take any more then 3 to 4 days, worse being 5 to 6. It might effect my first day or two of school. But I am sure I will make it up quickly. I am happy about being able to serve. My mother-in-law jumped on me with........well you must not have tried hard enough to get out of it. You have kids at home that need you. The woman is in the dark ages. First off my kids are no longer babies, and they ask out if you are working or going to school. Then they ask where do the kids go while you are at work or school. I was honest. But that is me. *Still shaking my head at her now* They started us off up in a room to watch a 10 minute movie about our judicial system, then one of the Supreme Court Judges came in an spoke with us about how its our duty, and thanked us for taking the time. From there they pick 18 names (guess who was in the first 18 names called)and they escorted us to the room with the attorneys. From there they pick out 6 names and start the interview process. We sat through that and those 6 were actually picked to be the jury, then they broke for lunch (12:30 to 2:00). After lunch they picked 4 more names as the alternates. Interview them, only picked 1 out of the 4, and called 3 more. That is where I fit in. The spoke with the 3 of us, same questions, and so on. After both attorney's speak and at that time they choose us. We had to fill out a form with personal info on it, which they looked at and asked questions. I found it interesting. I also feel its one of my rights living here in the United States, and I am proud of it. I am glad I can help, just like voting. I think Cussett said it earlier. Either way I was in the AC, read a magazine, had lunch out, ran to Walmart while on lunch, and enjoyed listening to what others say and do. JMO! So in Sept I have to serve on this Cival case, listen to the facts, and if needed offer my opinion. And I get to make $40.00 a day for being there..........lol! Thanks for listening.
I ate terrible today, had a diet soda and pound cake for lunch. I have a messy house to clean, and dinner to think about so going to Curves is out. Tomorrow is another day!

How exciting to be picked as an alternate. I got as far as getting into one of the chairs, but was rejected as a juror. I think being an aerobic instructor had something to do with it.
Good luck with the case and keep us posted.
