Thankful Thursdays and Workouts
| Thu, 08-21-2003 - 6:56am |
Good morning everyone-
It sure was good to sleep in my own bed but I would have preferred to sleep a long time in my own bed. Back to work this morning. I got the wash done last night but there is still a lot to get back where it belongs today and just in general...get back into the mainstream.
Last week was such a blessing so spending quality time with my family is my thankful. The above will be a series of 15 minute projects. I seriously doubt I'll get in a real workout today. I'm thinking by Monday...all will be back to normal.
What's your 15 minute project?
Workout Plans?
What are you thankful for?
Decide to make this a great day!

What's your 15 minute project?
My 15 minute project is to pick-up after my DGD. Of course, she's going to help with that too.
Workout Plans?
Doing light workouts this week because its so darn hot here. Yesterday I did some sit-ups and push-ups with DGD and we had about a 3 mile walk. Think I'll do something along the same lines today.
What are you thankful for?
I'm thankful for showers, soap, and air conditioning. :)
I'm thankful that I can have a shower daily whereas in some countries the water supply doesn't allow for it.
My 15 minute project will be to end my day in the tub soaking in my tears.
My workout plan will be to walk/run on the treadmill earlier in the evening.
I'm thankful today that ds made it through his summer counseling and did a very fine job at it. When the kids left there was one in particular that was actually VERY naughty at one point in the summer and he told ds that he was going to miss him the most of all the couselors. And then his boss did an exit interview and told him he did an awesome job and asked him to really consider hard about coming back next summer. Its good to know he made such an impact on those lives. I can't wait to see him!
Phyllis, nice to have you back.
Thanks Patty, you did a great job while Phyllis was away!
Today is Dr. day. I have my annual gyn this AM, DH has Dr appt early afternoon and Otto has his yearly vet appt. No official workout on the agenda but the day is still young and I really need to get one in.
1.I'm thankful for DH and I to be home safely after yesterday's very scary experience.
2.I'm thankful for this beautiful weather we've had this week and that it has made our week off so much nicer.
3.I'm thankful for all the beautiful places that we've gone this week.
15 minute project-have to get back to reality this morning and do some cleaning up during the course of the day and to find my bill folder that has seems to have gone AWOL on me. And will have to be making the big decision about the car. I think we're looking at more than 15 minutes here!
Hope everyone has a good day!

Off to a slow start this morning. Still not sleeping well. So, I'm thinking the best way to get moving today is to GET MOVING TODAY. As soon as I post this I'm heading in to my room (and refusing to look at my bed which could be calling out to me) and changing right into my workout clothes, grabbing a bottle of water and heading out the door for a powerwalk to the lake and back. Phyllis, while you were gone, I had the best workout! I practiced all I have been learning from Stu and it really made a difference! I enjoyed my workout, I focused on my surroundings and how my bod was feeling and also had some major quality prayer time. I will practice all of the above today, too. Afterwards, I'll be doing abs and upper body. Time to get back on this train.
15 minute project: So many to choose from, I'm not sure what I'll do, but I'll be around the house this morning until 11:30 or so and I've got to make use of that time.
Thankfuls: I'm thankful for my friend, Kim. And I told her so yesterday.
Hugs....Sassy
DH and I had a wonderful day and a half gone to Dakota Fest. We just spent the time together and relaxed while we were away. It was really hot there and the air conditioning of the car felt pretty good on the way home.
My thankful Thursday....1. DH...and 31 great years with him. 2. Both kids phoned us on our anniversary and also DH birthday. 3. A house with air conditioning and also plenty of water to shower with. I agree on that one.
It is so dry here that the dugouts are becoming lethal to the livestock. Our neighbor lost several head of cattle because the water has gone 'bad' and had to move the cattle out of the pasture. Since then, others are testing the water in their dugouts and are finding that the same thing is happening. So, you know that we do need moisture badly. So, I would like to ask you all to keep our area in your prayers for much needed moisture. Thanks.
My 15 minute project???? Throw some laundry in the washer.

Today's 15-minute project: Review the owner's manual for that new bike! It's beautiful. And DH finally agreed with me about the color when he saw it out in the sun. Very sweet looking bike. Now, the changes that I'll ever get to ride it....that might be a whole slew of 15 minute projects to figure out.
Today's workout: Not sure. Maybe step class. I did a bonus Jazzercise class last night so I might just make this a rest night.
Thankfuls:
1) Thankful for air conditioning (got up to 100 yesterday).
2) Thankful for my good friends.
3) Thankful for the new National do not call list. I got a telemarketer last night who was rude and I won't be missing those calls at all.
Have a great day.

My 15 minute project will be to wipe down, notice I did not say clean the bathrooms when we get back. Then maybe a swim in the pool later. Tuff day, I know!

15 min project, my feet!!!Between the glass slipers and steel toed boots my feet look awful! So picked some great exfoliating cream and something that is simular to a grater on a stick(I'm sure it has a real name)to work on them with.
I'm thankful that BNL and her husband got home alright yesterday.I'm thankful for all the women here who each day touch me in some way.I'm thankful for kids like tweety's DS who works with children and makes a difference in their lives.I'm thankful for DH who loves me for better or worse and thru hormonal upheavals.I'm thankful for DS who I'm so proud of..this week:)And finally I'm thankful to be healthy and strong enough to exercise.Yesterday during my run I realized just what blessing that is.
Thanks for all the nice things about doing the board.I was worried I was being pushy about it, hope not.
