Friday Night TV

Network TV on Friday nights is either really boring or too intense for me (I don't like watching crime or medical shows before I go to bed - that's why I had to give up ER). Since adding a cable hookup in our basement would be really extravagant, I've started watching the WB and I'm really enjoying "Reba" and "What I Like About You". They keep me company as I work out. Do any of you like these 2 shows?

Hi Donna,

Do you have a VCR? Our friends tape shows that we want to watch but don't get and we tape shows that they want to watch but don't get, because we have different cable packages.

One of my favourites on Friday nights is 'What Not To Wear'. I love that show and try not to miss it.

Just an idea.

Hey, I saw a book with that title the other day by two women, and it was pretty funny as well as informative! I wonder if it's the same thing. What channel is it on?

We're "Law and Order" addicts (all three versions), so if we're home we watch "Law and Order SVU -- Special Victims Unit"). I know it's a crime show, but it's so well written and acted. I haven't seen the shows you mentioned.

Sometimes we rent movies.

TLC at 10 pm......the new season is starting August 29th....I can't wait!!

They give really good advice....some of the makeovers are amazing! But I always laugh when I see Wayne. If you didn't know the show and how great the advice was and you were targeted as one of the 'victims', you would surely wonder who this guy was to give anyone advice. I think he could use a makeover! (LOL)

Have you ever noticed how the great fashion designers and makeup artists are usually very plain and dress in all black? Also, the hairdressers usually have really bad hair? LOL!

When I'm not listening to music, the vcr is usually churning away - I've got my VHS stash of favorite movies, but it's getting to the point where I can do all the parts. I need to find some new ones. I just wanted to let people know that these two shows are really cute, warm, funny, and definitely family friendly and worth a look-see.

Did you know he's not on for the next season (starts August 25th, I think)? Stacy's back, but there's a new guy replacing Wayne. When I saw the promo, my first reaction was "nerdy". I'm sure he's not, but I haven't seen another promo for the show lately so I haven't had a chance to reconsider. It might be fun to be one of the makeovers, but I'm not goin' in that 360-degree mirrored room on a bet! I'm quite in touch with reality!

Oops, I meant 29th, not 25th.

Thanks, Donna! I've watched "Reba" once before & it was cute! Reminded me of how the American family has changed (how you just can't get rid of your ex & the entourage!). Anyway, her family still manages to have a sense of humor with all of the changes they have weathered. The other show, is that the one with Jennie Garth (90210 alumni)? If so, it looked cute. I'm home tomorrow night, I think, so will have to check them out. I love to watch "The Gilmore Girls" when I get a chance. I think it's the setting that I love the best about that show. Also, WB had "Evergreen" or something like that & I liked it because it was set in Colorado or somewhere like that & Treat Williams is a good actor. I like the family shows the best. I can't believe it took me so long to start watching "Everyone Loves Raymond" - I love it! I really miss getting to watch it and "Frasier" (for the great comedy!).

Ohhhhhh....but it WOULD be nice to have that $5000.00 to spend on some really nice clothes. And for me, that's $5000.00 U.S. which if I were spending it here....BOY what a windfall!!!(LOL)

I saw that too on the promo, but I don't remember what his name is. I hope he has as good a connection with Stacy as Wayne has.

Can't wait!!!! I'm like a little kid.
