1. What is your idea of a romantic evening OUT?

I find it romantic when DH does some small thing to show that he cares. For me it goes way beyond the wine and roses, candles and music with lights dimmed.

2. What is your idea of a festive evening OUT?

A wedding reception can be lots of fun, or a party to commemorate a special event. It definitely involves music and dancing.

3. What is some character trait you've discovered you have that is just like one of your parents -- good or bad?

It's kind of funny ... my Mom says that I'm just like my Dad ... and this extends to a bunch of things.

In conversation I told her about a recurring argument that I have with my DH. I like to have the window closed at night so that it doesn't get too cold when I wake up in the morning. Evidently my Dad felt the same way.

1. What is your idea of a romantic evening OUT?

Not sure I remember what that is. Let's see. Meal at a nice restaurant and a stroll along the Riverwalk (in San Antonio).

2. What is your idea of a festive evening OUT?

Cinco de Mayo in San Antonio.

3. What is some character trait you've discovered you have that is just like one of your parents -- good or bad?

I get fussy if someone moves something of mine and I can't find it. Just like my Dad.

4. What's something you'd like your husband/boyfriend/son to do for you that would melt your heart?

Just once I'd like to get flowers at work.

5. What's something you wish you could say to your mother -- good or bad?

No woman needs a man in her life to be a complete person. I truly believe that deep inside, every woman is strong and independent. If you don't think you are, chances are someone told you that and made you believe it...like your father or an old boyfriend.

1. What is your idea of a romantic evening OUT?

A concert in a small venue (Berklee Performance Center) by Luther Vandross, and dinner at one of Boston's smaller restaurants (2 come to mind - Icarus and 75 Chestnut Street).

2. What is your idea of a festive evening OUT?

Couple of ideas: 1) A concert in a big venue and burgers and beer. (Already lived this one - the Jacksons at the Providence Civic Center before Michael weirded out and burgers and beer on College Hill near Brown University); 2) an urban street festival on a balmy summer night.

3. What is some character trait you've discovered you have that is just like one of your parents -- good or bad?

My mom is a non-nonsense type, doesn't suffer foolishness easily. I admire that, and am starting to notice I'm growing into that. It's good and bad. It doesn't apply to the little ones yet - I'm very tolerant of them.

4. What's something you'd like your husband/boyfriend/son to do for you that would melt your heart?

Grocery shopping. It's mostly my job, but he does it when there's too much else going on, and he doesn't buy weird things. I especially remember one time when I was so sick - stuffy head, aching ears, awful headache, couldn't breathe - I was crying for Vicks VapoRub, of all things. He went out nearly at midnight and got me some.

5. What's something you wish you could say to your mother -- good or bad?

I'm blessed this way - I can say anything to her. The decibel level that follows is sometimes interesting, but it's easy to converse with her about just about everything.

Good ones. Making me think again, Rhonda....I've started my weekend already.

1. What is your idea of a romantic evening OUT?

A walk by the beach

2. What is your idea of a festive evening OUT?

A walk by the beach

3. What is some character trait you've discovered you have that is just like one of your parents -- good or bad?

Like my dad, I do not like to be around alot of people and noise. When things get like this I tend to sit quietly and pray dh wants to go soon.

4. What's something you'd like your husband/boyfriend/son to do for you that would melt your heart?

I never really thought about this one cause he already does so many things to melt my heart. Guess it would be to surprise me by picking me up at work some Friday with all the bags packed and wisk me away to a quiet place together for the weekend.

5. What's something you wish you could say to your mother -- good or bad?

Look in the mirror mom...all the things you say that your mother does to hurt you, you are doing those same things to me. If I told her this in real life I'd have to move away...far far away! But I love my mother and want to continue to have a relationship with her so I just overlook this part in her.

OK - trying this again. My first post went off into cyberspace....

1. What is your idea of a romantic evening OUT?

A concert at a small venue (Berklee Performance Center in Boston) by Luther Vandross and a quiet dinner at one of our smaller intimate restaurants (2 candidates - Icarus and 75 Chestnut Street)

2. What is your idea of a festive evening OUT?

Two ideas: 1) a concert at a big venue and burgers and beer (already did this one - Hall and Oates at Providence Civic Center and burgers and beer on College Hill near Brown University); 2) an urban street festival on a balmy summer night

3. What is some character trait you've discovered you have that is just like one of your parents -- good or bad?

My mom is a no-nonsense person - doesn't suffer foolishness easily. I'm growing into that trait, and frankly, I like it. It's good and bad, though. It doesn't apply to me when I'm with the little ones, though - I'm very tolerant with them.

4. What's something you'd like your husband/boyfriend/son to do for you that would melt your heart?

Grocery shopping - he does it when things are really crazy. One thing he did not long ago really touched me. I was really sick - stuffy head, achy ears, bad headache, couldn't breathe through my nose at all and trying to breathe steam wasn't doing anything for me. I was crying, for Vicks VapoRub, of all things. He went out at almost midnight and got me some.

5. What's something you wish you could say to your mother -- good or bad?

Except for truly intimate topics which I wouldn't bring up and she knows better not to, we talk about everything. The decibel level sometimes exceeds normal conversation, but I can say just about anything.

Good ones. Making me think again, Rhonda, and I'm in weekend mode already. If only the pile on my desk would go away....

OK - so I posted twice. I thought the first one went to a galaxy far, far away.

Did both the Jacksons and Hall & Oates concerts. Both were equally outstanding - and so were the burgers and beer at Ronny's Rascal House in Providence (probably now defunct).

***I'm stumped on this one as well.

Oh----------good questions.............

1. What is your idea of a romantic evening OUT?

***I love being on vacation, fully tired from a day of hiking or what have you AND then getting all dressed up and going to a romantic wonderful restaurant for dinner, having some great wine, and dessert :o). Like in ....Maui! ( a walk on the beach after is way too romantic )

2. What is your idea of a festive evening OUT?

***Gala Deb---need you ask?

3. What is some character trait you've discovered you have that is just like one of your parents -- good or bad?

***I do things FAST like my mom. Since I want to keep all my digits, I think I may sssssslow down.

4. What's something you'd like your husband/boyfriend/son to do for you that would melt your heart?

***Eric has a way of surprising me when I least expect it, which makes me cooooooo. Like at my class reunion, he had a bottle of champagne sent to the room for sis and I, in a cool ice bucket, with two goblets, and a beautiful tray of chocolate dipped strawberries, with a note attached about how much he loves me (and probably a hidden message to be good LOL).

5. What's something you wish you could say to your mother -- good or bad?

***Yes Mom---------------I did have all those parties at the house when you were gone.

1. What is your idea of a romantic evening OUT?

Dinner out at some beautiful place on the water

2. What is your idea of a festive evening OUT?

Any kind of outdoor concert

3. What is some character trait you've discovered you have that is just like one of your parents -- good or bad?

Inability to make up my mind-just like my mother

4. What's something you'd like your husband/boyfriend/son to do for you that would melt your heart?

To come home to find the laundry washed and folded and a sparkling clean house!

5. What's something you wish you could say to your mother -- good or bad?

I wish I could tell her how much I appreciate the fact that she taught me to sew. She made so many dresses for me growing up for whatever occasion and looking back at pictures how many things I made for myself only because she taught me to sew! I don't use that ability much anymore but I love the fact that I know how to do it!
