My Children Have Gone Home!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
| Sat, 08-23-2003 - 4:42pm |
Hi Everyone,
My DS, DIL and GS have gone back to their house. They have been staying here with us since the day I returned from Mass. It's been three weeks of crazy days. I haven't been able to come to the board very often and I've missed everyone dearly. I love my children but it is pure contentment to have my quiet house back again! I've got the beds stripped and the washing machine and dryer humming. On to the bathrooms and vacuuming and looking forward to a very quiet evening.

Tomorrow is a new day and I will be soo happy to start exercising. Just wanted to say hello to everyone.
Margie :)

It is wonderful having kids around but also wonderful when they leave, isn't it? That is what dh and I have found. This weekend dd and sil came...actually came last night. They stayed with us and about 2 hours ago headed to town to his folks. I immediately went and took a nap. (my favorite pasttime anymore). They will be back out here tomorrow evening and will stay with us two or three days next week. They'll work for us for a bit before classes start for her. Nice to have them but nice to have the house quiet again....
How are other things going for you? The job, the new person working there, etc? It's really dry up here and we're praying for rain. Crops have held out well because two weeks ago we got a rain. But we're sure needing it again.
Anyway, glad that you're back!! Missed you.

I was just thinking about you today and wondering where you've been. So sounds like peace and tranquility has been restored to the land once more! I figured I would answer your question here about my medication. I started out on Cozaar which didn't help and was then switched to Hyzaar (50mg) which contains a water pill. I've now been switched to Hyzaar (100 mg). I knew it was back up the day before when I went for a gyn appointment and she commented my bp was high and by the next day it was elevated a little more. I just can't seem to get it stabalized. I thought it would be better this week since I've been on vacation and really not doing anything other than relaxing. I've still had the swelling in the ankle too. So far I've had a venus doppler looking for a blood clot, an ankle x-ray seeing if it was a result of the fall I had and an echocardiogram all negative. So we'll see if this does the trick. Hope you get some answers. I'm sure with all the stress of your trip to MA and having a full house hasn't helped!
Glad to see you back on the board!

I do enjoy having my kids around but YES I also enjoy our quiet lifestyle too. I guess it's just like healthy eating. Everything in moderation is just fine.
It has bee soo dry here in Texas too. Last night it got overcast and thundered and then we got about half a dozen raindrops. This is what we call the dog days of summer. It won't start cooling off until the end of October here.
You asked about my new co-worker. Let's just say it's been an adjustment sharing the office with another person and I'm trying to keep an open mind.
I love your comment about a nap being your new pastime because yesterday after the kids had cleared out DH said he just wanted to have a day where we did absolutely nothing. He napped off and on all day and I puttered around the house in my PJ's until 2 pm. I was so nice to wake today feeling relaxed and rested.
Have a great week. Hope you get some rain. Margie :)

Hope you enjoyed your peaceful weekend and the start of the new school year gets off hitchless. My sister surprised me when she told me Revere goes back on Aug 27. Half-days until after Labor Day, but it still seems so early. And my BIL in Novato CA has already had our other niece back to school for about 2 weeks.
I'm going to make sure you come back to MA this fall - if this autumn is anything like this weekend was, I'll never want it to end. Just picture perfect. I got to wear my new jeans and French terry tunic. I even went outside and pulled some weeds. I don't have film of this event, but I did it! And I wasn't bothered by every kind of bug. Lots of dragonflies, though, in all colors of the rainbow.
Nice to hear your voice hereabouts again. Take care of yourself!

The last two weeks I'm suddenly seeing lots of butterflies, finally!! I was beginning to wonder if all the stuff I have planted for them was going to pay off. I think I've seen fewer dragonflies than usual this year, but don't know why that is. The grasshoppers and toads have arrived, but nothing major. The mosquitos down here are like helicopters, but their numbers could be a lot worse considering how much rain we've had.
I'm glad to hear you're having such lovely weather. A video of the weed-pulling would have been nice for posterity!! ;-)
